The day Jacobs is no longer chairman, until then Parros is his puppet. It's embarrassing and pathetic that Boston gets to get away with this kind of shit. Hit a goaltender in the head and instead of being suspended the penalty is reduced from 5 to 2 mins, then Marchand cross-checks and slashes the goalie. But anyhow Carolina retaliates, you can bet your ass their players will get suspended. Really hoping for a sweep for this dirty ass team. Get dominated on the ice and resort to cheap shots "Tough physical bruins hockey"

lol take a break bud.

Kochetkov is a hot little tamale as well. No doubt he was chirping Marchand all night (in Russian given he speaks little English). Hopefully Boston can win one so Carolina can close at home.

Why would you ever wish for the opposition to win a game? Don’t let them get any hope. Close it out in Boston if you can. This is just the first round.

People actually upset at Marchand slashing the player on the ice who has by far the most padding? Yeesh
Is this a real post ? You're actually confused why people are upset at Marchand for cross-checking a goalie and then taking a 2 handed swing at him ? when Carolina's top 2 goalies are already injured, one of who your team punched in the head earlier in the game ? Yeesh

Uh yeah, the goalie is swinging his massive goalie stick at someone and so he's untouchable when doing that? Get back into your net if you don't wanna get involved with a scrum.

If you're worried hes going to get hurt by a slash to the stomach then wait until you find out that guys are shooting 90 mph at him, better bubble wrap him!

Goalie made a save while in his crease and in the process of making the save his momentum carried him out of it a bit. He still had one foot in the crease when the altercation started with a crosscheck from Marchand. Pyotr then responds with a small slash and shove of his own and then the 2 hander from the rat. Matching roughings there was a fine call but Marchand definitely started the entire thing. Marchand is under a microscope though due to his past, as he should be. It was dumb from him but was pretty tame all in all. Nothing more should come out of it.

Yeah exactly, it was a matching penalty which is why I was confused some people were extra upset. Both deserving of the penalties IMO, but I guess being Marchand I should have expected some extra hate on him for that play

The Bruins getting an extra minor on that play would have made more sense than the other two times they got the extra minor, but the refs aren't really a story in this series.

Canes have 3 good goalies. Andersen will be back and Raanta did not get really injured by that POS move from Bastardnak. And after the hit Canes absolutely manhandled the ruins. This will be a sweep.

The manhandling has been pretty steady since about the 10 minute mark of the first period in game 1

All I can say is Marchand is lucky he wasn't playing when Hextall or Billy Smith were goalies. They wouldn't take his crap nor wait for a teammate to bail them out.

*edit* forgot to mention that those goalie sticks were solid wood in that era, not ultralight fiberglass */edit*

I think the refs are definitely a story in this series, they just aren't even close to a reason. If that makes any sense.
They’re always a story. Every series. It’s just a given they’ll suck.

They aren’t a reason for the current situation though, that’s definitely true

For those who didn’t see.

That’s the same angle as we talked about yesterday… that’s not “smoking” him he was taking his helmet off as the guy passed him. Some slight contact but that's it. Raanta was clearly already hurt based on his reaction. (Again, I still don't actually know how. My best guess is a neck muscle strain or something, maybe it was an angle of force type of thing.)

Hilarious to note the goalie slashed Marchand twice. Not one NHLer does not slash back at that point. Especially when the goalie is a true nobody yet to establish anything at this level.

Idk man, i could do without Marchand taking a swing at anybody. Goalie. D. Don’t matter. I’d expect somebody to get mugged if it were the other way around. Then again, this Bruins team would probably just lean over and let it happen

IMO this looked far more injury-causing than what Pasta did.

lol what a joke.

Forbort - not as much. He can't be that reckless.

haha, wow. They going to fine every 4min penalty now?

I'm fine with that one. Forbort just swung his stick up in Turbo's face. It was an unusual (and very stupid) play. The Marchand thing was a love tap. I laughed at both players. That kinda shit makes hockey fun. Nasty without much danger.
