Yeah, We basically all went into that series with the Lightning expecting to lose so it never really felt like huge stakes. This one is obviously much different. Maybe I could shrug it off if they fall flat against another team and chalk it up to a year all about learning how to win. But against the Rangers I don't think I could take that. I can stomach it if we lose in 6 or 7 games, but I'm going to feel sick for every second we're trailing.

I think part of this is that many of them are gunshy picking us because of what happened to Florida last year. They see us as similar: big regular season, new to the playoffs and based on offense and speed.

I want the Devils to play a very smart first 10 mins. They sometimes have too many mistakes early on. Get through any nerves and then completely outskate the Rangers into the ice as everyone know that they can. Dictate the game. Don’t take penalties. Just play their game and they got this. Expose the Kane line every chance you get. Expose Trouba, Mikkola, Schneider. Pepper Igor and try to go blocker side on him.
