Attard had no future in Philly at this point and his little NHL taste thru years largely is because he is RHD (The magical RHD is big in NHL circles)

Both guys are AHL puck movers with one a lefty (Gleason) and other righty (Attard)

Slight win for Oilers because Attard is younger and righty who in theory could be called up for short stint if needed down line and not look like a fish out of water

Gleason is not good enough for NHL and likely should never see another NHL game (His NHL experience was years ago as much younger D)

What's the scouting report on Attard? Gleason is a good puck moving D that IMO outplayed Broberg 2 pre-seasons ago but never got rewarded for it.

Purely an AHL defense swap as both players are AHL lifers from here on out.

Attard was putrid in the preseason games he played in which basically earned his ticket to the AHL for the rest of his life.

Gleason hasn’t played an NHL game in 6 years. Since his Dallas days.

Gleason is the better player, Attard holds more theoretical value as a guy who is a year younger, much less pro experience and plays on the right.

So probably pretty even in a nothing deal.

Just seems like an odd deal considering Edmonton has a ton of RD depth in the system (Kemp, Wanner, Carrick, Brown, etc) and Gleason was definitely the first LD who’d be getting a callup

AHL D that counts towards the veteran rule for a AHL D that doesn’t
