Have to have the players that understand what it takes to win and don't fold under pressure. Bruins where built to win the president trophy not a playoff series.

Having the softest defense in the league that was scared to death in the playoffs didn't help matters.

Bruce barely could win a series other than the cup run in 7 years with this "leadership"

Guess it wasn't the coach after all.

Agree that the Bruins: "Having the softest defense in the league that was scared to death in the playoffs" and was poorly coached by the HC, Monty. And having a HC, Monty, that made other coaching mistakes in first round of the playoffs with the most talented team in the NHL.

The 8 seed making it to the finals and losing to the best team in the west isn’t embarrassing. But I’m sure you’ll try to spin it to some narrative to make it sound like the bruins having the best record ever and losing to a team that snuck into the playoffs On the last day isn’t embarrassing

But please inform us how florida exceed all of the nhls expectations is embarrassing.

Any actually quite opposite. I commend the florida panthers organization for having the stones to shake up their organization when making the playoffs just wasn’t enough so they dealt one of their top player in huberdeau and made it further than they’ve been. Wish the bruins would have done the same years ago.

I like the points, makes going in more fun. But give me a mediocre season and cup any day.

Little update, drove by the other day and the beaches appeared to be relatively clean. Not sure if the cleaning crews were working overtime to get it cleaned, but there was a strong low tide smell still around and signs to be careful.

My fear is that we are becoming the Detroit red wings of the early to mid 2010s.

They held onto their core for far too long. They become a middling playoff team in the mid 2010s. They let zetterberg, kronwall, and datsyuk ride off into the sunset and retire with the team instead of moving on from them and getting value for those players when it was clear that despite being a playoff team, they weren’t a cup contender.

Now they’ve had 8+ years of nothing when they could have moved on from those guys and accelerated their rebuild.

You can say that for a majority of the NHL teams spare the 3 who won the cup the past three seasons. I always found the owners are happy with X # or home playoff games meme farcical. If I was a greedy/cheap owner I'd want to win as many playoff games as possible to reap the financial rewards that come along with a championship. Having said that fix the #%#*% ice surface/plant.
