Honestly Igor could be playing like December Igor and I don't think it'd matter because the last 4 periods have been the worst the team has played all year lol

It probably wouldn’t ultimately matter but he’s still not playing well.

Ship Strome to the sun. Sign Copp unless the ask is insane.

I’m done with Vatrano. He was fun, but I’ve seen enough to not fall in love with this honeymoon period. There’s a reason he has been a 30 point bottom 6 guy. His defense is non-existent. When he isn’t scoring on his shot, he isn’t helpful. He’s the premium version of Pirri and I hope this team doesn’t commit to him blocking Laf and Kakko for anymore time than they already have.
Othmann can do Vatrano's job next year on an ELC. It just wouldn't be good business.

You had Panarin in his prime, Fox in his prime, drafted 1st overall in Lafreniere, 2nd overall in Kakko, acquired Shesterkin at his peak, etc.

The rebuild was done.

When you have the best goalie in the NHL, a top-5 defense man in the NHL, a top-5 winger, a top-5 goal scoring winger, its time to compete, not continue to rebuild.

This is on Gallant. If anyone is to blame for a first round exit, blame him. The rebuild went fine.
Injuries haven't helped, but this is on Gallant and he should be canned after we lose tonight.

Yep, only to be pulled the next two games with like a .700 sv%.

Played well in game 7, but then Federov/Redden combined for a goal.

I didn't remember that he got pulled, but I remember game 5 and 6 being horrendous for him, especially game 5. He gave up one of the worst goals I've ever seen early in game 5.

Goodrow being out is a huge blow. He is a guy you can throw against Crosby and will shut him down.
Every team has injuries, but you have to think Goodrow, Blais and Motte were a big part of Drury and GG's plan to shut things down come playoff time. To have none of the 3 available probably hurts more than their individual contributions let on

No matter how hard we try it never seems like enough. All Shittsburgh needs to do is wait and be patient enough until we f*** up defensively. Lindgren is a huge difference maker so things are slightly better but everyone looks so down on themselves. No f***ing energy again it's such a disappointment

Except the results say otherwise. We don’t have enough forward talent, they are getting abused and we have no options.

I’m not convinced Gallant is ultimately the right guy but he can’t make magic.

I'm just completely floored at how everything falls apart on Zibanejad/Panarins sticks. I hope they have broken wrists or something because it is about the only thing that would explain why they can't shoot that I would accept.

Igor DOES need to be better. But his team has literally set him up for failure. He's pretty far down the list of people to blame for the series' loss.

A record breaking chances-for vs chances-against (high danger) in game 4.

And tonight, no urgency in the o-zone, still standing around in the d-zone (Zibanejad).. in an elimination game.

Put 2 prime Hasek's in our net at once in game 4, we still lose by a few goals. The team had a historically bad game.

Lundqvist was outplayed by a 20-year old Varlamov in 2009, like severely. Then outplayed by Michal f***ing Neuvirth in 2011.

When did Hank ever have the same goals support in the playoffs that Igor is getting? Rangers scored 13 goals in 3 games. That should be enough if your goalie at least gives you average goaltending.

The most infuriating thing about this so far is that in a do or die elimination game at home they came out timid and meek and fully acquiescing to the Penguins and playing THEIR game. It’s pathetic.

On a positive note, Laf and Chytil have been pretty good. I'd hope next season we move on from Strome and give Chytil a long look at that 2C with Panarin. We can always add at the deadline if the experiment goes poorly, but I think he might finally be ready for the next step.

After this series and Schneider's emergence, I'd truly considering moving Trouba if we can to free up cap space as well.
