Embarrassed two games on the road, backs against the wall, elimination game, coach publically questions then, and thankfully we get out of the first period at home only losing by 1. Massive accomplishment!

We cut off the rebuild too early. We did not acquire enough young forwards. Especially centers.

You had Panarin in his prime, Fox in his prime, drafted 1st overall in Lafreniere, 2nd overall in Kakko, acquired Shesterkin at his peak, etc.

The rebuild was done.

When you have the best goalie in the NHL, a top-5 defense man in the NHL, a top-5 winger, a top-5 goal scoring winger, its time to compete, not continue to rebuild.

This is on Gallant. If anyone is to blame for a first round exit, blame him. The rebuild went fine.

K’Andre hasn’t been good since game 2 and if this is the kid line giving it their all we have serious issues

Vatrano is an ideal 3rd line RW who you can use on PP1 as well. He's a really versatile player who can fill in a trigger role on a top line if you have an injury.

I think you easily let Strome guy and re-sign Copp and Vatrano.

I think it's just that each and every one of the "playoff grit" guys we got are out other than Lindgren. The current bunch of healthy guys are just not mentally able to play playoff hockey without that gritty help.

I mean, I can't think of any other reason than mental.

Gallant is the only one who doesn't see who his best players are apparently. Live and die by the vets. It's like when AV refused to play Skjei/Smith to close games in the Ottawa series even though they were far and away our best defenders.
