Fact: this team lived off its PP this year.
Fact: refs don't call penalties after game 82 of the regular season.
Fact: well, at least not against Pittsburgh.
Fact: we did well when we played them physical
Fact: we haven't done that in these last two games at all.
Fact: this teams refusal to win faceoffs or get better at them costs us major possession time.
Fact: Nemeth should be selling hotdogs before he ever sees the ice again.
Fact: I am disappointed and sad at this effort tonight.

Relax fellas.

Goodrow
Lindgren
Motte
Blais

Copp playing at 50%

It's too much to overcome. Yeah I know their third string goalie is in net but he has played well above expectations. It's not our year. Gotta stay healthier than this for the playoffs

Igor is the new scapegoat I see
His SV% through the first 2 games where He basically played an extra games worth was over .950, the team played like shit in those games too and he can only single handedly carry them for so long. He had the 2nd most saves in a game in NHL history in game 1 FFS.

Last game
1st goal: Nemeth scores on his own net
2nd goal: Shesterkin tops it in his glove but Trouba pushes Pens player toward him and he drops the puck, slides in the net
3rd goal: Braden Schneider is way ahead of the pens player, carrying the puck by the blue line and falls down turns it over into the slot
4th goal: 2 pens players in front of the net, no Ranger in sight

Then tonight the first goal his pad got shoved in by Sid and it wasn’t even called a goal on the ice. Then Frank Vatrano tips the second in with his skate. Then a huge defensive breakdown on the rush. Then a deflection with no Ranger dman in sight. Then a deflection off yet another faceoff loss.

This team has played like shit every game and Shesterkin is the only one who played 2 excellent games in this series. If it weren’t for those 2 performances we would be getting eliminated tonight. If it weren’t for his historic season we wouldn’t even be in the playoffs right now.

Pretty sure this is why Copp was brought in.. Except Gallant continues to use strome on the dot.

Goodie Copp Kakko
Copp has no legs right now, and I think he'll cost too much. If he's resigned both our top two centers are one concussion away from retirement.

Drury needs to find a center that can play defense. Gallant fooled himself into thinking Mika is a two way center. Panarin/Mika/Kreider is the line moving forward. Your matchup line next season is Kakko and a center that can defend.
They should have signed Danault last off season. He would have been perfect for this team.

He'll just drop a .930 next time he's in the playoffs because goaltending is a coin flip
As far as random error works in stats? Maybe. It’s obviously a small sample size in any given series.

Still, on balance a better goalie will still be a better goalie in the playoffs over their career, even if for any one game it’s not a perfect predictor

I hope we get a better Shesty performance in game five otherwise it’s gonna be a long offseason of speculation about his clutch game performance
I hope we get georgiev for game five. Shesty is toast as far as this season is concerned.

I actually don't love Lindgren as a partner for Fox, as I've mentioned before, but he's really one of those "holy shit there's nobody else" players.

This series is violently exposing how thin our defense is.

We already didn't have enough and we lost one.

Putrid effort by our 'top' line. Lot of people were delighted we tied up Mika as our 1C till doomsday. Never was exactly ecstatic, myself. A good player, however, a 1C as part of the core to take us to the SC. Always had my doubts.

I hate saying it but Fox has been ass for a while now I don’t care how many points he gets he’s looked nothing like the guy who won the Norris, feels like all those little plays defensively, plays at the point from the “Fox hole” etc have all seemingly disappeared and the thing I see him do most is that head tilt eye roll

He needs to be better, I think he knows that, at least I hope so

There needs to be some push back this period or the series is over, dump and chase until the dmen are scared to go in a corner hammer them for 20 mins, punish them, take a piece out of everyone

things I wanna see in the off-season. Plyers brought in that can win a f***ing draw.

They were 48.1% in the regular season.
The Panthers were 48.2%.
The Wild were 47.6%
The Avalanche were 47.3%
The Capitals were 47.1%

Faceoffs aren't the problem. The Penguins were 51.1%. You want to tell me you can tell the difference of 3 faceoff wins per 100 tries?
