Taco is Love, Taco is Life

In the Church of Salmela
I have a place kind of close (but kind of far with traffic) that has birria everything. Even birria grilled cheese.

Their spot is inside a gas station (don’t let that deter you, this is a quality place) and they bill themselves as Latin-American street food.

It’s pretty good. I wouldn’t say the birria tacos are my favorite tacos, but I love a lot the stuff that place has on the menu. And the birria grilled cheese is really good.

I’m as much of a burrito guy as I am tacos. Tacos are like the appetizer

The two places I frequent most have a chorizo asada mix burrito. One of the places calls it the a la Diabla burrito. And they also have a sauce cooked that’s cooked into it.

One of the places I go to has a California burrito, which has French fries in it. Somehow I have a real liking for that, despite it seeming like something I would think of to mix together when I was 11 years old and trying to mix different foods together.

Now, some of the different kinds of meats just make the French fries bland and they just don’t go together, but the pork California burrito is really good. The pork with the French fries goes really good.

And if you’re ordering pork at most of the taco/burrito places, I’m talking the Al pastor. Some places also have the shredded pork, which isn’t bad at all, but I prefer the Al pastor. If that’s what you want, but you’re worried they may give you the shredded pork, then you gotta specify Al pastor.
You're surprised by that? That my friend is what they call delicious drunk food lololol

Legit sounds amazing though

f*** ESPN, and f*** the play by play guy tonight poking at the Devils equipment crew when it was SHIT MSG ICE. What a bush league production.

Best skating team in the league and this clown thinks it was a Devils equipment crew issue. Gtfo. Promote Wichusen.
LOL

That was definitely a BS slander, if I ever heard one. I thought that was a low blow to the equipment guys as well and really stupid. He said something about the “skate sharpeners” like they were the problem. Not sure if he meant the sharpeners as it the actual machines or the guys that sharpen the skates, but either way it was BS and had nothing to do with it.

I actually didn’t have much issue with him earlier in the game, but he got brutal as the broadcast went on.

Maybe he should stick to baseball. MSG ice has the a reputation for not being all that great, especially come this time of year when it starts getting warmer out. Between the basketball games (Knicks played last night) and regular Billy Joel (and others) concerts, the ice has long been a problem there. It was a problem in the playoffs last year too, which I know he covered.

I remember it being an issue in the 2012 series.

I made bone in thick cut center loin pork chops on my new Weber SmokeFire grill/smoker before the game today to kill time/nerves. Amazing grill if you're in the market.

I actually ate light tonight. Did salmon spiced up with a Shawarma blend (coriander, smoked paprika, etc, etc)

Which is why I am fighting not to order food as I'm a bit too wired for sleep
Same here, had a little poke bowl. Might go for a nice lunch tomorrow to celebrate the W! After that, it's back to the routine. I was on vacation this week so got a little carried away enjoying my local spots lmfao.

What's hilarious is both fanbases are accusing bias from ESPN

Rags fans were angry that Ferraro was "overly" complimentary of schmid

Original tweet had this Ithaca grad being a baby about it and then acting like he beat Ferraro in an argument -- ended up privating his account tho 😂

TBF, the broadcast really wasn't that bad outside of the crypt keeper and Dave Johnson never getting what falling down means

I didn’t like Ferraro several years back. I didn’t get to see him much, since he was on TSN in Canada and the only time I could watch TSN was during broadcasts of Canadian games on there.

There was one point where I didn’t like him as a player either, much like Kevin Dineen.

I think he’s been good on ESPN though. And I also like that he’s one of the only guys that didn’t play goalie that actually point out the bad goals. He was shitting all over Raanta in game 6 at MSG last year when he let in those two softies in the first 10 minutes. And every time I review the goals and he’s calling a game, he almost always has a comment if it’s a goal that looked not good.

The only guy you hear that out of on ESPN is Brian Boucher, who actually played goal. You don’t really hear it from Weekes often, unless one of the others asks him about it.

Although I do like Weekes.

What's hilarious is that the broadcast was so clearly biased towards the Rangers, especially the main commentator, can't recall his name. Always the little snark towards the Devils. "Bad Decision by...", "Everything seems so difficult for the Devils", "No shot attempts inn 4 minutes" right after a PK, etc.

His style is boring as hell. Barely any energy in his calls.

I WILL PUMP WICHUSEN ALL NIGHT

Sucks to see Palat struggle this badly. There’s no way he’s close to 100%. The dude is a really good player for years. Has to be to something nagging him.

That’s a grill and a smoker ? Can you smoke a decent amount in it ?
oh yeah - it smokes like crazy at lower heat levels and there's a smoke boost mode. It's pellets for both heat and smoke. There's lots of pellets out there to pick from and some smoke A LOT. I used charcoal pellets for less smoke tonight with about 20% apple wood pellets for light smoke on the pork. Still made my eyes water a bit opening it up.

All digital controls with phone app too - so you can monitor remote with food probes and alerts.

I’m now wide awake at 3 AM from being too hyped and now you guys have gone and made me starving at the same time.

Taco craving might be satisfied later today. I don’t live far from Hackettstown and they have almost any different iteration of food you can think of in town. Just gotta pick the right spot. Great little breakfast spot that makes killer spicy dishes, might be a must!

Also god bless our broadcast team, especially Dano and Sal. We’re spoiled with those two.

First thing's first :

I'm VERY PROUD of Akira. :thumbu:

He showed big brass Balls tonight in goal. (don't you agree, @BahlDeep ? :naughty:)

And I'd be hard-pressed not to go back to him in Game 4.

You HAVE TO go back to him in Game 4.

Now all that said :

HOLY CRAP!! JESPER BRATT ACTUALLY DID SOMETHING POSITIVE TONIGHT!! @billingtons ghost

But overall, the Devils did what they had to do to get back into the series.

They're not out of the woods yet however.

They NEED Game 4 or it's going to be the same situation where the Rags have multiple chances to clinch again.

Find a way to win on Monday and it's a WHOLE NEW F'N SERIES.

LET'S F'N GOOOOOOO!!:devdance::devdance::devdance::devdance::devdance::devdance::devdance:

Jersey City
Not sure if it's been brought up by now, but y'all need Taqueria Downtown in Jersey City in your lives. Super simple menu, LA transplants run it, and I feel like at this point I basically have an ownership stake in the place after all the money I've spent there over the years.

Rule of three there for me, though: if I'm getting tacos there I'll usually order three different kinds, and when ordering drinks I don't do more than three because they don't hold back on their liquor pours.
