Post-Game Talk: ECQF Game 2: Rangers @ Capitals 5/4/13 - Lundqvists 0 - Capitals 1

People like Kershaw, Snowblind, etc... are enough to make me not even wander into playoff GDT threads anymore. There's only so much negativity that I want to scroll through. Henrik played brilliantly, the Rangers played well defensively, hit two posts, couldn't score and lost a game by one goal in OT. Disappointing? Sure. But the idiocy around here has hit a new level.

The redden gomez curse is here . Redden has the same number of goals as we do as a team and almost as manny points .

LOL @ not trading Kane for the Rangers roster...Kane is a diminutive winger, who is not good on face-offs, and is as soft as they come. Yes, he is VERY shifty, has silky hands, and insane vision, but what good is that as a Right Winger who needs finishers with him? If you think he would come here and put up 80-90 points a year, you are sadly mistaken. If this was 2004, you would be saying no way Richards can be traded! A clutch playoff warrior and Conn Smythe winner, 90 point scorer ( by the way, more than Kane ever scored) and on a cup-winning team. They would never trade him for the best goalie in the game in his prime! Kane is not even a top 10 player in the league. Toews, and Hossa are better than he is. Think Kane scores as much on the Flames? How about the Blue Jackets?

Top 15 players I would take before Kane.
1.Crosby
2.Malkin
3.Stamkos
4.Karlsson
4.Datsyuk
5.Ovechkin
6.Lundqvist
7.Weber
8.Toews
9.Kovalchuk
10.Chara
11.Doughty
12.Tavares
13.Subban
14 H.Sedin
15.Suter

So have at it, i just named 15 players who I would take over Patty Kane (notice how Lundqvist is on the list), now go and dig up some fancy Corsi stats that say Kane is more valuable than Hossa, Toews, and Sharp combined.

If he was a natural center, who is good for 90+ points a year, and was over a head taller than Zuccarello, then he would make my list.

Saying Lundqvist wouldn't return Kane is either being so far up Chicago's ass or just a delusional neutral "fan" who likes to post on HFNYR. Cut it with the anti-Rangers agenda already, you were being pessimistic the whole playoffs last year, and as far as i'm concerned, you have a plate of crow to eat.
So which previously banned poster are you? :D

I'm not sure why Kane needs to be a head taller. He was on pace for 90+ pts this year too. I forgot we are supposed to be enamored with grit and size. Kane is a better player than Hossa and Toews, ask Hawks fans who their MVP is this year. . I feel you haven't watched Kane at all this year, he's improved his overall game leaps and bound to what it was before. He is a good defensive player. Let's not forget he's only 24 years old. Kane is a winger yes, but the way he controls the middle of the ice is similar to that of an elite center. Kovalchuk is the same way. This is why Kane was tried at center last year, but his inefficient defensive play at that time caused him to struggle. Hossa is not even in the same stratosphere as Kane this season, peak wise, yes.

As far as I know, it is against board policy to make multiple ID's under the same IP address, I like to think I am a contributing member of this board, and as such, would like to continue posting here on HFNYR with all of you savages, except some of the people on this board like to play both sides of the fence, therefore, belong on my ignore list because I do not want to get banned.

Also, way to go on countering all of my points there big guy, way to go.
lets take a 48 game sample after a lockout and say Kane>Toews and Kane>Hossa.
You have much to learn about the game of hockey if you really think so...or you just get too much enjoyment out of spitting on your team. Do you ever hope to get a Rangers locker room pass just so you can step all over the Ranger's shield when nobody is looking?

This is a one man team.

Rangers are failing to generate enough scoring chances, and enough QUALITY scoring chances to beat Holtby.

It also doesn't help that in the rare opportunity they get a good scoring chance, they shoot it wide or hit the post.

The call at the end of the 3rd period should have been a delay of game, BUT the Rangers would have done nothing with the PP, so what does it truly matter?

The PP is completely ineffective, the team doesn't have the ability to generate quality scoring chances against an average defensive team, and the team is now down 2-0 in a deflating loss.

Again, I keep saying "team" loosely, because it's clear they solely rely on one player. One of the best performances of Lundqvist's career in the post season completely wasted. If they couldn't win this one, they're not going to win.

Dude you have been nothing but a clown on this board for about two weeks. I'm kind of getting sick of it. I can understand being upset after losses, but you just take it to a new level.

It's almost as if you want this team to fail, just so you can be right. Lighten up, bro. We're all Rangers fans around here.

Just bringing honest assessment of team. I give credit when it's due. They've looked good and bad during wins and good and downright terrible in losses.

this. trade hank, rebuild... really? sry i don't play the "you're not a real fan" card here, but this kershaw fellow seems to be enjoying this way too much. I think he'd be alot happier following another team altogether.

There isn't a player he likes on this team outside of maybe Lundqvist. \
Every prospect sucks... really? why you here bro?

Wow way to jump to conclusions. Lindberg, Hrivik and Fast are very enticing prospects. I also like Hagelin, Staal, Del Zotto, Girardi, Zuccarello, Stralman, McDonagh, Stepan and Biron. I cheered for the team when they had Brasher so there's no point changing now lol.

Its definitely not ONLY coaching but coaching is a problem. I cant understand how people dont see it. We have players YEAR after YEAR that come from good PP systems and come to the Rangers and stink it up, then leave the Rangers and go right back to a good PP and scoring goals. We need an offensive minded coach because we should be scoring many more goals than this TRAPFEST.

Which players have left the Rangers and went on to be good playoff scorers?

Toews is probably the best all around forward in the game. Kane isn't close.

Saying Toews is a better all around guy to try and insinuate he's better than Kane is just plain wrong. Patrick Kane is better hockey player than Toews and he's improved in all facets of the game.

I guess Blackhawks fans are dumb too, after all they watched both of them every single game and somehow unanimously voted Kane team MVP.

Watching the Blackhawks, I think Kane is their best player and has been for every year aside from 11-12 where he was moved to center.

But just my opinion, feel free to disagree.

kershaw talks about the bruins and how great they are then a bruinsmagi comes on and continues the same crap. Hum i smell a 2 faced rat

I dont think the Bruins are great, but they're still a hell of a lot more entertaining than the Rangers. That team just won a cup 2 seasons ago and scored a **** load of goals in the SCF and ECF.

That's your argument?

Then, quite simply put, you don't know what you're watching.

YES! An unscientific HFBoards poll to prove your point. Nice work.

I did. And I do. Kane isn't nearly the two way player that Toews is. And, Toews is a monster on draws and plays the more difficult/responsible position.

Toews > Kane

Hossa, at this point, isn't the player that Kane is. But, career-wise, Hossa > Kane to this point. Hossa is tremendously underrated defensively.

I have to agree with Toews. He is a COMPLETE player and an extremely good 2 way center... Much better than Kane

will have to side with the 100+ Hawks fans that watch both players play under the microscope rather than a Rangers fans that probably doesnt watch as many and goes by reputation.

Its like other fans telling us Girardi is our best defenseman last season. But only Rangers fan acknowledged he was behind McD and Staal.

Not happy with the way this team approaches the game.

They allow the game to come to them and are not fast enough, strong enough or talented enough to counter.

They have serious problems putting 2-3 passes together and have no idea how to generate offence off the rush.

And when they do get something going, they don't have enough talent to cash in on a consistent enough basis.

The coaching staff has had a long enough time to get this team going in the right direction and After what we have seen the last few years, it's not working OR getting better.

Last year every break that could have went our way did. This year we are not getting those same breaks and we are back to being that same old inept team that cannot get the PP going or stop a team when it matters most.

I hope we get swept because it's the only POSSIBLE way Mgmt makes any changes.

We are never going to win with Torts as coach.

Sorry, but you really can't make any assumption about how many 'Hawks games I watch. And, I'll take the subsequent comparison and throw it in the garbage because, again, you're making an assumption based on nothing. You don't know a thing about how many 'Hawks games I watch or how many the people in that poll watch. I guarantee you it's close.

This is what the fans, the ones that go to the Blackhawks Official NHL Website, voted on last season:

Best Forward: Toews
Team MVP: Toews
Kershaw: Boned
