I get going with Raanta and I think he'll do just fine until Freddie is back. But I would've slightly preferred starting with Pyotr, partly because of the worst case scenario if whoever starts falters and Freddie isn't ready... If Pyotr started and faltered, Raanta the cool and calm vet can come in and likely settle it down. If Raanta falters then Pyotr's got way more pressure on him.

I don't think it'll come to that anyways, and Raanta will do well and we'll win the games we need to until Freddie is back.

Pyotr seems like a cool hand, though. He's got the stoic Russian way about him. Either way, I agree, we'll be good. I'm just glad we have healthy options not named LaFontaine.

Yes, but if Pyotr starts game 1 and falters, I feel like it's harder to go back to him if Raanta has trouble or gets hurt. If Raanta has an issue, he has more experience bouncing back from that kind of performance.

Pyotr coming in as the second goalie if they are down would have less pressure IMO. Just come in and play; the team needs to come back not you alone. Coming out for game 1 of the playoffs with 3 games of NHL experience? That's rough, especially if he doesn't get to watch the heightened speed/physicality first-hand from the bench during game 1.

Ticketmaster also set single game tickets at more than 2x the STM price, so I'm not surprised it isn't sold out. Single game tickets are absurd this year.
