Which tells us it is really a injury....
No it doesn't.

He's probably getting iv's plus he's there for his team.

My guess is that he lost some weight and strength and that is why they held him out.

Lauko lost 8 lbs a few weeks ago. Bergy is listed at 196 lbs but that was at training camp. 8 lbs is a lot to lose in a matter of a few days.

Sounds plausible.

I'm going with this as well.

Getting win #1 while opening a series at home is always difficult and the Bs cleared that hurdle

it was evident more than a couple of Bs were under the weather, several showed some rust, Bergy watched from the locker room and the Cats played ( for them) a solid game...that said, Fla. never led and it felt like the Bs were in control

not a barn burner win and clearly not the Bs A game.....I think this was the Panthers chance to steal a game and they didn't ... I originally said the Bs win the series 4-1...after tonight that still rings true

One down.....fifteen to go!

Well I hope you are right and I am wrong again, but not so sure............

I hated the first two periods as the Bruins were outworked and outcoached completely. The third was better. One hopes that rest, fluids and recognition will help.
Florida was playing pond hockey, throwing pucks at the net hoping for deflections and lucky bounces.

Hard to defend that type of hockey. Bruins where structured when possible and adjusted in the third.

The best take for me was as a team, they know they played a C game. Florida is toast

-Bertuzzi was the best player on the ice IMO,
-Zacha held up his end of the bargain as well.
-Forbort did his job along with Clifton, good to see but feel for Grizz
-Coyle and the penalty kill was tremendous
-none of this matters unless Ullmark continues his incredible work
-Lindholm struggled with the puck based on what I could see, McAvoy too sometimes
-Credit to Florida, they outshot and outplayed the B's for swaths of the first two periods
-Loved the lockdown, choke out work done in the third period though

man do I hope Bergy is ok, guy has played through so much, is this really the flu or me being totally paranoid?

Either way, good start to the series

I wouldn't read into it yet.

I had quick hit of food poisoning last week and lost 7 lbs in 12 hours, and felt the dehydration symptoms (headache, fatigue, muscle cramps) for a few days after. Some variations of it (especially Norovirus) lasts for days.

I think they're being cautious with it and if last night were a Finals game he would've been on the ice

Last night was really like the way they played down the stretch, didn’t play as well as we know they can, other than the third period. But still managed to win, hoping it was just a case of some players still being under the weather , and will have a more complete game on Wednesday, but 1 down 15 more to go.

Coyle, Hathaway & Nosek were nightmare to play against in the 3rd.
Charlie Coyle really stepped up and led in the 3rd. He's a puck possession monster.

Nosek was hitting everything in sight and Hathaway was his irritating self the second the Panthers tried to get physical

It's funny how there are times I watch Coyle casually carry the puck from the blue line down the wall to the corner, slowly around the net and up the other wall, and nothing ever comes of it. It frustrates me to no end. Then there are times where he does it 2, 3x in a single shift and still nothing comes of it and I realize how frustrating it must be to chase this guy all night. It also helps when the other 4 guys on the ice make a charge to open space while Coyle is stirring the play.

He could do the same thing 10x a game and I'll go from hating him for doing nothing, to singing his praises for his puck protection and waiting for a play to open up.

Hall definitely should have tried 5-hole on the second breakaway. But I guess that's easy for me to say.
I think pass was the right play both big chances he dished to Frederic, but the problem was that Hall showed 100% pass all night. He needs to be at least a little bit of a shooting threat. Great plays, but with a little more nuance to it (or perhaps Frederic making a stronger shot to Lyon) I think 1 of those tickles twine

Florida was forechecking like hell ,and they got caught a few times that turned into 2-1 ones if the Bruins had capitalized on them I think they would have changed their game plan.

I think you're on to something there.

And Florida’s goalie was cheating on the pass on the 2-1’s.
