My dad has to be the most superstitious person I know, he didn't like it when I told him one of my HS teachers told me superstitions show a lack of education. Which I don't believe, because HS teachers don't know ****.

Anyway he has all the standard superstitions and then there are things like not wearing yellow because it's unlucky, not putting your hat on the bed (which is the only one I picked up), and not closing a knife someone handed to you open. Seriously it's ridiculous. Gives me an idea for tonight. Might put all my hats on my bed.

Your HS teacher is an idiot. Superstition has nothing to do with intelligence or even less so education. It's not a rational thing. By saying that it shows a lack of education he/she suggests that it's a rational decision by people who don't know any better. It has everything to do with irrational emotion. If the teacher said that it shows a lack of emotional maturity that might be true. Just stupid on his/her part. It shows a lack of education when someone makes stupid statements like that. I'm not really all that superstitious, I do hate jinxes. However, I don't ACTUALLY believe someone saying shutout has something to do with Lundqvist giving up a goal. It's irrational. It's emotional.

Anyway Go Rangers! I think we have enough talent to tie this series, then it's anyone's series.

While the Caps have outplayed us, I really think people need to reread the definition of domination.

Especially when the Rangers system is part of the equation. The collapsing scheme makes normal defensive zone time look like offensive domination. It's a big part of the reason why I hate it.

Agreed... This **** system of basically never challenging the points is the reason we constantly look dominated.

I agree, I think I said HS teachers don't know ****, was being facetious with that comment but still that used to irk me when they had a sense of superiority same with college professors. It was like 12 years ago, only reason I remember is because I told my mom because we always used to tease him about it.

They better destroy the **** out of Ovechkin

“Well, McDonagh is a good skater, but they don’t play much of a physical game. So it’s kind of nice to know when you go to the corners, they’re not going to hit you." - Alex Ovechkin

Ovechkin's definition of hitting is jumping a few inches off the ice and charging at the opponent. Maybe that's what he meant when he said we don't hit?

Joe Thornton calling us soft turned the season around last year.

He isn't really wrong. Nobody on our D is really feisty outside of Staal. Occasionally Del Zotto.

Makes me excited for McIlrath next year or the year after.

College professors are worse. Although, at least college professors have achieved far more in their lives. However, as far as having a sense of superiority college professors are worst of all. It's funnier when their arguments (as they usually are), are the ones that are unintelligent. Most college professor arguments are emotion driven, but they seem to think that their emotion driven arguments makes them smarter than the people that are actually using common sense.

Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled programming.

While it's not hockey related it is nice to agree with a fellow HF poster about something for once haha.

Ovechkin is a goof. Not saying he isn't right, but the physicality of this series has been fairly even. Our D isn't much for big hits really, but that's fine with me, although I'd love to see someone in blue destroy someone tonight.

Stupid thing for Ovy to say after Stralman drilled him with a hipcheck the other night.

However, McDonagh could definitely afford to be more physical against Ovechkin, and I think he will after these comments. Ovechkin is lucky that Staal is just returning from injury because Staal has been known to deliver some big hits on him.

Unfortunately he is correct...teams don't pay a price in our zone, and when you have so many players down low there should be plenty of opportunities to really lay a hard hit on a guy...but we always pass the hit up.

Exactly, our d is solid but soft. Says something when Moore is only fighting major from a dman(that I can remember). We are high effort and mobile with a high pain tolerance on d but tough/physical are not words that apply IMO.

Big Mac will be a blessing and maybe noreau down the line as well. If we can carry guys that only play 7 min we can carry Mac for a 6th d.

I'd take a 5 and a game from Asham or Dorsett if it means Ovechkin getting clocked.

Or Stralsy can nail him with the hip again. Either or
