I will confess that I didn't see the whole period, but what I saw, I saw Ovechkin being a wrecking ball and nothing really from the Rangers.
 
Richards has been good on the backcheck. Boyle's prescence has been frankly calming, too. Not a terrible period. Just can't take any penalties.
 
Zucc has got the biggest balls of anyone on this team.

And Nash DOES need to step it up.
 
I certainly hope they keep the on-ice and crowd mics wide open at MSG too.

The background crowd noise is extremely annoying. Can't hear Pierre at all, and Emrick and Olczyk seem like they're doing the game from a studio rather than being there.

Decent period. Holtby started getting lucky again, and two or three Capital thrusts were because Lundqvist failed to catch the puck or melt it down.
 
Ovie played really well. Team is getting dominated possession wise when he is on the ice. Don't think anyone on the defense can handle his line.

Seriously. We're not going to score every single period. Yes, we scored one flukey goal last game. Okay. But let's be real and honest, we're playing solid. So are the Caps.
 
Play Nash with Stepan ffs! Our most effective pairing this season by far. Throw in Zuke, Hags or Callahan with them, I don't care. Just put them together so we can get some kind of offense going.

But naah, we have Torts.
 
Stop complaining about their fans and they way they root for their team its moronic. Let them be. Lets worry about our team. And when they come to MSG we'll cheer the way we want to.
 
Nash has been soft... nothing new when stars come here.... Nash must be the softest power forward in the league.. he never hits or is aggressive on a consistent basis..
 
wow...this hurts to say, but milbury actually made sense with his assessment of Nash's play thus far...now NASH please SHUT HIM UP!!!!! :)
 
I wouldn't mind Milbury's comments if he stood by them.

He ripped Ovy at he begining of the year and tries to pretend like he never did
 
an early crossbar away from taking the lead. I thought we played pretty well. Still a bit loose in the D zone and we need to tighten up on the OV line, but there were some good chances in there

I agree with this post to an extent. The usual crowd is making things sound much worse than they actually are. "Boring, stone age hockey" has led to this game being even so far. Period was fine. However, richie and nash need to step up if we want a chance to win this game.
 
I thought they played really good the first 5min or so but lost some momentum after that crappy powerplay.
