How was that a good period? Wake up guys, if we keep getting dominated like that, it'll be a short series.
 
The Rangers are on the road, leading 1-0 after the first, and some of you are complaining.

Are you guys able to enjoy anything in life? Seriously?

Just like 1 punch can turn the tide in a fight ( nice counter shot, it's very similar to a goal that kills their momentum. Ofcourse, we're the Rangers, we always have to give it back in the form of a PP.

scoring first on the road in Game 1 is huge... solid first period for the Rangers...

Mcdonagh needs to be better he was beat bad by Ovechkin there and what a save by the King...

I thought the fourth line played well in the first they threw the body around and created a good scoring chance...

Lets go boys come out strong in the second!

Not really.

You guys overreact to everything. :help: Rangers are starting on the road against one of the best offensive teams in the league. Caps got maybe one or two good/really good chances on those 14 shots. Honestly, not once did I think the Caps were going to score on the chances they had.

The Rangers didn't generate a ton of quality chances, either, but they managed to pot one on a good forechecking shift, and since then, they got their forecheck going and outplayed the Caps.
 
Henrik and the 4th line best part of that period for us.
The 4th line changed a little bit of the caps momentum by getting puck deep and taking the body. We need to get puck deep if not their forwards are going to keep punishing our D-men.
 
Bogus call to end the period but come guys, stop watching the game with negative eyes. That was a great road period from the Rangers. Yes, Caps were dominating for the first half but that was expected anf Hank came up big when needed. But i seriously believe that we came into our own and took over the initiative and momentum after our PP.

This game will end well for Ranger fans :yo:

It's a road game to start the series. Relax! They had the better of us for 10 minutes. They cannot keep up this type of play for another 40. We will get into the game haflway through the second, dominate the 3rd and have a very good chance of winning this.

Bro, I want to see this team win badly as anything I've wanted in my life. I put so much hours in my life religiously following and discussing this team. And I really hope they flip the switch eventually. We can't keep getting outplayed per period like that.
 
They really picked it up as the period went a long. Solid period. Really good to see Callahan hitting everything.
 
This game thread is dejecting reading some of the posts. Ya we are getting outplayed, but has anything seriously scared you other than the OV semi-break? We started slow but we had a good end to the period minus the penalty. Keep blocking those shooting lanes and we will be okay. Remember guys, this is the hottest team in the league and we are away, RELAX.

Think they went like 7-2 in shots the last ten of that period. They played better. Hopefully they can kill that penalty off and keep improving in the 2nd.

No we can't but we did get out of it with the lead, they need to build off that in the 2nd and pour it on, if they can do that then we might have a reason to feel confident. If they get completely out played again we may still manage to win but it's a hard win and they can't do that for the duration of the playoffs.

1st period of game 1, with a penalty in the first minute. You really think the Caps will keep this up? You can't call this series by one game let alone one period.

We could have capitalized on one of those long careless passes if we knew that there is only supposed to be 5 skaters on the ice... How can you come out on the road against a dangerous Caps PP and have a too many men on the ice called against us...

I mean come on wake up! If they scored on that first PP this game could have gotten ugly

The Caps play at home, to start a play-off series. They feed off the great atmosphere in the stadium and go out firing on all cylinders. This is what happens when you start a series on the road. A game is still played over 60 minutes. I am not worried

Yeah, I'm happy we have the lead. But I hope we play with more consistent possession like they're capable of.

Also for some reason, this year hasn't given me pre game jitters like it has in years past.
