The thing is; the Caps has been winning a ton of games despite being a bad possession team, their offence doesn't need many chances to score. The Caps had the 3rd best W% when outshooting the other team in the reg. season. Our only chance of beating the Caps in this series is to outplay them at ES, which we are capable of, but we can't play like we did in the 1st.

This collapsing crap is really pissing me off. Is it normal for the winger, on the opposite side of the ice from where the puck is, to collapse towards the slot?

Looks like it's not that bad ey. SOG is 8-14 but blocked shots is 5-9. Basically gives you a shots count of 17-19.

Also misleading as the way we had a lot of blocked shots was by shooting it directly into the feet of a guy standing 3 feet in front. Not by having guys slide out in front of us and block.

I hope you guys are right. Hopefully that period will be an anomaly for the Caps this series.

Don't think this style of play is effective over a 7 game series, which is why I'm concerned.

We cant be spending most of the game in our period, but I wouldn't be too concerned after one period where they picked it up half way in.

If the next two periods are the same, I'll join in even if they win.

Not a good first ten minutes, it's gotten better since then. Survive their PK, regroup and take it from there. We need to sustain some pressure offensively, otherwise our defense will be ****ed by the end of this game. Use the 4th line, they've looked good and aggressive so far. Get in on the forecheck. Molest Green. Piss off Backström and Ribeiro (not Ovi though, that guy beasts when you're pissing him off) .Get Eminger out occasionally. Take away their space at center ice - just don't let them pass our blueline without having to take a hit or making a great play. Take comfort in having Hank in net.

Because, you know, only the half of the period that the Caps played will in counts. Newbury has his stick down this game is 2-0.

I thought the Caps carried the play for about 15 minutes. If the bounces were different, of course it would be a different game. Fact of the matter is, I think that the Rangers need to play better going forward, this period wasn't the worst thing in the world, and I'm always thrilled to be winning.
