nothing is official yet but this really is a mindf***. Should be moving Kakko up to where Copp is on that 2RW

I know Kakko hasn't been lethal but he's a huge reason for us being able to sustain offensive pressure when he gets going. I can't wait till Rooney is f***ing jettisoned for an actual veteran 4C next month and we can move on from him

They're scratching Kakko partly to keep Rooney in the lineup. It's bold to assume they're moving on.

Kakko needs to listen to some of the older Spittin Chiclets episodes and learn about how a revolving door of players on the Pittsburgh Penguins avoided getting scratched by basically being Sidney Crosby's best friend and knowing what songs he wanted on in the locker room.

Priority number one for Kakko this offseason shouldn't be skating, shooting, passing or anything else. It needs to be finding out what kind of pre-game snacks Panarin likes, what his favorite music is and how warm or cold he likes the lockerroom. Look at the wonders being Panarin's best friend has done for Ryan Strome's career.

How do we fix our even strength offense??that's simple-dress more 4th line plugs

Scratching Kakko so Rooney can play and getting eliminated is a borderline fireable offense.
There's no borderline.

The Rangers are who they are because they're obsessed with plugs and have been hiring coaches obsessed with plugs for decades.

That's why every prospect comes here and plays 11 minutes because he doesn't do "the right things" or have "good intentions."

Amonte, Weight, Zubov, Sundstrom, Duclair... Rangers have a proud history of derping on highly talented players.

Rooney was scratched for most of the playoffs. If they’re scratching Kakko for him, it’s most likely bc Strome, Chytil or Goodrow are bad enough they need a plan B. Even if it’s a terrible plan B.

Just bench Schneider and go 13 and 5….

ROONEY CAN'T f***ING PLAY CENTER!!!!!!!!!

(I'm yelling at the Rangers not you)
Oh I’m aware. He’s terrible. Hunt seemed like the obvious choice if we needed someone to move around the line up.

I also don’t think Kakko is actually getting benched. I think it’s just a bluff.

I really f***ing hope so. So much of the good will this run built up will be lost on me if they do this.

I'll lose any hope that they're ever going to prioritize talent over bums that "do stuff" and have "muh effort" but it only looks like they do because they can't keep up and have to hustle to be below replacement level.

If he doesn’t play. I’ll wait to hear about his injury situation too. He’s shied away from a lot of contact the last couple of games.

If he’s pretty healthy and benched so we can keep Rooney/add Reaves back in. Then I’ll become annoyed.

Unfriendly reminder that Kakko hasn't been on for a goal against since game 6 in Pittsburgh.

Rooney has been on for 2 in 2 games.
Yup and 2 HUGE goals against that he was directly responsible for in both cases. First goal made it 1-0 when he decided to forget how to pick up the late man coming in, you know the center's whole job coming back. And the next game he wraps it around the boards without even looking and that leads directly to the 1-1 goal.

But Kakko is the problem who is never on the ice for goals against. I just don't understand.

If he healthy scratched Kakko to put Reaves back in, I unironically hope they lose.
Where did Machinehead go?

He jumped!

Honestly, the love is more weird.

He should not be scratched and he's looked better in the playoffs than he ever has, but people act like it's completely unfathomable to scratch the guy
In an elimination game in the playoffs? Yea it is pretty unfathomable. This isn't game 36 of the regular season.

Or, Kakko could learn how to put up a point more than once every 5 games.

Miller and Fox are averaging a tad more than 11 minutes a game. If you earn time, you get time. That's how it's always been and how it will always be.
