Gallant talking to Shesterkin in the tunnel:

Lindgren is going to catch a slap shot in his teeth and SPIT IT past Vasilevsky, break his stick over his knee (which is broken) and hobble off to the dressing room, blood dripping down his chin and mash an IV of morphine into his thigh. And be back for game 7 ready to go.

I've figured it out. Kakko is battling an ailment. Lindgren is hoarding the entire team's supply of Toradol, leaving none for young Kaapo. Kakko getting scratched is the fault of Lindgren's addiction!

Strome is going to sweet chin music Panarin with a super kick and reveal he's been playing him all along as a secret member of the Lightning

The same people down on Kakko and wanting him out probably did the same thing with JT Miller.

Sometimes with the complete lack of patience and inability to grasp anything beyond headline production on display on these boards, I really think this fanbase gets what it deserves,
JTM was never breaking out here. As much as I like the player he’s turned into, his play with us during the end of his tenure has to be the laziest I’ve seen a player play. He looked like Justin Schultz in Edmonton, completely checked out. And he was a locker room issue at the time, it’s not news anymore that he’s a hot head.

I doubt the vets in the room at the time took it well that a young 2nd liner was a hot head, I know he’s molded that aggressiveness/tenacity into leadership qualities but he just didn’t fit here and that was evident.

Kakko is a much different player/personality but I doubt he ever breaks out here. Sometimes you have to call a spade a spade and what Kakko is right now is barely an NHL caliber forward 3 years after he was drafted 2nd overall. I mean the fact that he’s even considered as a potential scratch says enough. He’s done here

Yep, probably the same with Buch & I bet they were also ragging on K Miller last year as well. Certainly would have hated Mika in Ottawa and been happy when he was shipped off.

It’s pretty hard watching Rooney take the ice. Hope he’s not in tonight. If he is I hope he proves me wrong at least for one game.

That's just flat out BS right there
Kaapo Kakko has less goals in his entire career than Jack Hughes had this season. Guess who was labeled as an intimidating power forward with an elite shot and overall goal scoring arsenal, and who was the player with questionable translatability due to his size and his shot.

Kaapo Kakko as a 2nd overall with top 9 minutes and PP2 time through 3 seasons has a pace of 30 points. He also has 5 points in 22 playoff games. Not a lick of urgency, defense, or physicality in his game

I’m someone who had him 1st overall in 2019. I’m acknowledging I’m eating crow big time on that take and for all the times I’ve defended him. His game hasn’t improved even a bit in any department since last season either, and his shot is still arguably the worst in the league. Ryan Reaves had 2 less goals than him this season btw. Have you genuinely seen any improvement in his game this season? Even his defensive play fell off from last season

How many players hit their prime after 150 games? Just wondering.

Yea he's taking a bit longer to develop but jeeze, give him a break. He is an NHL player, and has improved drastically defensively since his rookie season. His offense will come.

How many players with that stat line through 150 games actually succeed in the NHL as top 6 forwards?

Edit: and now that I saw your username, you were the guy trying to convince me back when we drafted Kakko that his shot was better than Laine’s. After I watched about 40 of his games that season and told you it was below average

Lol, says a lot that you're still happy we got rid of JT Miller. Some young guys don't develop into what they'll be in their early 20's. It's not rocket science. KK is taking a little longer to get there. He will be a very good player in this league for a long time. He's already really good defensively which is just a different trajectory than most young players take. The points will come. Have patience.

Alright guys, we have them just were we want them. Nothing better than a win or go home scenario for our beloved Rangers.

There Is No Quit In NY!

There will be a Game 7 on Monday at the Garden.

Let's Go Rangers!
Game 7 would be Tuesday.
