Disagree that this is the best chance. It started two years ago and if not for Gallant’s “contribution” - they could’ve made some damage last year too. The Rangers essentially just moved from up and coming team into mature contenders. Next season this core group will be largely returning intact. Drury won’t NEED to make any special moves this offseason and there will be good options for him the season after to not be limited by the salary cap.
All you need to do is look at the Colorado Avalanche and realize that you better enjoy the moment when it lasts. Because it's absolutely no guarantee that you will have another crack at it, despite how things project to be. There's a reason that dynasties don't really exist in modern NHL. It's damn hard to win 1 cup. Damn near impossible to go b2b. No one has done three in a row in 40 years.

I don't think this group will have a better chance to go all the way than this year.

It’s actually Zbad and Kreids that are getting caved.

My winning shirt goes on before each game! Until they lose of course, then I find a new lucky shirt. Have fun at the game!

On the first point - I think folks here undermine how big of a contribution it is by Zibanejad line to be even with Barkov line at ES (also the fact that it was largely on their contribution the Rangers swept Caps and went up 3:0 against Canes). I’m sure they will work on fixing the PP.

Re. my lucky shirt - my best friend gave me a Rangers shirt with my name and number 50 on my 50th birthday in April. I also went back to my first Rangers jersey. I wore this combination since the start of these playoffs and wash them after a loss.

This run is interesting.

As you say it's clearly their best team/best chance in forever.

But I remember feeling 2012 and 2014/15 being way more fun. Way more suspenseful, which made it fun. The winning was more euphoric. And it's not like those teams weren't good - one of them won the President's trophy too.

Maybe it's just because I'm older and tired of losing, but I have mostly dread. I think it's like Parcells said, eventually you begin to hate losing more than you love winning.

But I'm not having a ton of fun with this playoff run. The announcing is awful and generates no excitement. It feels like except for a moment here or there, the first two lines are laboring. Igor is brick walling it up a bit but not even in a fun, Mike Richter sprawling out and diving to make a ridiculous save kind of way.

Lafreniere exploding onto the scene has been awesome. But to me, the team feels like it's underperforming (like vs Washington) or getting outplayed and lucky (Carolina and Florida). It's not as fun as it should be. Depressing. I'm a grouch.
Yea, it's been so depressing being up 2-1 in the ECF. Stressful yes, depressing absolutely not. Oh, and they didn't get outplayed by Carolina and they haven't been lucky. Loser talk.

Oh I agree about no guarantees when it comes to playoff success but at the same time there’s no doubt to me there’s a clear path to maintaining a contender in the foreseeable future.

Fox doesn't really "hit" for the same reason Kreider doesn't. Doesn't have to. He wins puck battles without doing so.

Sometimes you want to, and you want guys that want to. That's what Cuylle and Rempe are earning a salary for.

This game just feels like it’s gonna have a “moment” in it. Florida has gotten away with everything but murder so far and I get the feeling they might go for it tonight.

Get out early on them and don’t sit back and come back 3-1 and somewhat healthy

LFG and suck it Maurice. Your glasses are too big for your head loser

PP1 sucks for 1:30 and then cooks the second Laf/Gus hit the ice. Immediately you have seam passing and condensing the defense. Also Tro executes the basic entry that Zib probably botches

It should be Panarin or Tro entering the zone.

I do not know what they see with Zibs but it's false.

agree. this site is awfullllll on any iphone or ipad, completely useless. the live feature is trash too imo
There's an opt out of live threads group you can join on HF and it turns off that feature: https://forums.hfboards.com/account/join-user-groups

I also use the Brave browser app on my iphone as it has a pretty good inherent adblocker- I read in a support forums on here that the HF auto refresh on mobile has something to do with ads causing the page to refresh. Using a browser that blocks ads has fixed it for me.

Happy you said this because usually when the HFBoards delegation starts telling Lavi to make PP changes, it heat's up again.
They'll probably throw a different look out there if they get in trouble.

They haven't trailed in a series yet past game 1 and they powerplay is one of the best in the league over the last three years.

I don't think thee personnel needs to change. I just think they need to get back to making concerted plays instead of waiting for a breakdown. We're not playing Washington anymore.

No way are they sitting Rempe tonight, I mean I wouldn't be incensed or anything but I don't see it. What if the game gets out of hand the wrong way ? You want him out there trying to freight train people.

I would swap Gus & Fox.
I would do that but Zib for Laf is the more important swap
Zib is single handedly murdering our Powerplay why are the coaches so blind .

Get Laf out there .

So many poor passes like this one that handcuff the other point men and kill the sequence. Should easily find Fox here supporting from the bumper spot and then it’s a quick 3 on 2
