Always seemed like the Blais hope was a little silly.

What are the odds the guy, who has been a 4th liner most of his career, can come back without much time and be more effective than Rooney or Hunt?

He's supposed to become a 3rd line player with NYR over time- he hasn't had that chance yet. You factor in the risk of re-injury with the odds he makes the difference between victory and defeat, and it seems like a bad gamble.
