Meh, I would rather play Montreal with Price in net.
If we win the series now we'll hear a lot of excuses.

You would have been embarrassed.

No way our side would not be doing the same.

This board would be spouting flames if it were reversed. Just the way it is.

This is very true.

I feel bad for their fans/team but I don't honestly see what was wrong with Kreider driving the net like that.

It's a fast game and injuries will happen at times. Nature of the beast.

I meant the organization, not the fans. It seems like crying is institutionalized by the Canadiens. Like I said somewhere else, their press conferences are sponsored by Kleenex.

Fanwise, the good result would be maybe a different player to use the Potvin sucks chant on.

Edit: Fans can whine complain whatever they want, it's all good, that's why they call us fans.

There is NO way Kreider did that on purpose. High speed and lost balance. Therrien trying to create that hatred and rallying point.

Guess we'll see Subban in full punk-mode tonight. Montreal doesn't have much in the way of goons, but they certainly have a few guys who can play dirty. I'd say ice Carcillo tonight, but I don't know who to take out of the lineup.

I don't understand this way of thinking.

Are we trying to make the stanley cup finals? Or are we trying to make Montreal fans feel bad about losing?

Trying to stay out of this as a Habs fan, but I'm confused at this line of reasoning and have been seeing it a lot. Who is saying that his intent was to NOT score a goal? People are arguing that in trying to score a goal he was being reckless.
Note: not trying to argue if that's true or not, just trying to understand this line of reasoning where people claim that because he was trying to score a goal means that he wasn't being reckless.

Maybe he shouldn't get slashed on his leg/tripped by your defenseman then

I feel bad for Montreal and their fans, Price is a great goalie and it sucks that he is out for the series.

This is a huge opportunity for the Rangers now and really it will be a massive disappointment if they don't make the SCF against the Canadiens without Price.

I'm pretty concerned about retaliation and Rangers stars getting hurt but hopefully it doesn't come to that. I still believe the injury was a result of Kreider's speed and him getting tripped from behind because he blew past a defender, which is the same thing that's happened before.

Still, gotta believe that any Habs player with a chance to run over Lundqvist is going to take the opportunity now. And I'm worried about other cheap shots/knee on knee 'retaliation' type stuff. I hope that Montreal wants to win on the ice, and not go after guys with the intent to injure.

Its not all of the Habs fans that I have seen claim that Krieder was only trying to hurt Price, some have though. He really wasn't being reckless without his legs getting swiped at and all he probably doesn't lose his balance and he shoots on net.

Kreider played on the Mighty Ducks on the big screen

No more Price for the rest of the series ? ouch...that'll hurt the Habs (well, as a Ranger fan thats good news in one sense...but you want to beat your opponent, not your opponents backup if that makes sense).

Im sure the Habs will still come out strong though..thinking this is over will have you on a golf course in a week... but i dont think the Rangers are going to have that problem, the whole group seems very levelheaded.

Yep...Prust, Gallagher, Subban, Briere, etc.

Again, I'm not arguing any of that. It's fine, differences of opinion, just trying to understand the logic behind the whole he was trying to score, therefore it wasn't reckless argument.

I don't think it was reckless because if he wasn't tripped he wouldn't have lost his balance but rather skated to the side of the net. Once he lost his barrings there was no going back.

Excuses starting already for Habs fans.

Habs fan: "Look at the bright side, if rangers win series there'll be an asterix that follows "conference champs".

Me: "If I don't recall some team beating another team this playoffs who was without their number 1 goalie."

Yeah if that was reckless, then every breakaway is reckless. Emelin was the bonehead on that play, if Girardi tripped Pacioretty on a breakaway, everyone would be calling for G's head.

Also, who gives a flying **** what other fans think? Budaj's playoff GAA 5.13 FFS.

A goon is just a punk who likes snack foods.

Everyone needs to make sure that front of the net is clear. Everyone!
