Price gave up two goals and was still the best Hab out there by a mile. Never had I thought the Rangers could play a period like that in Montreal.

Just keep it going, boys!

Props to Rangers. They executed well. It would take perfect plays to beat Price and they did just that in the 1st.

Oh, and St. Louis has always been a Habs-killer. I wasn't surprised he scored the first goal.
^ from the GDT thread on the playoff forum.

I don't know the stat line but I didn't know Marty has a history of success against the Habs.

So nice to have the depth (read: Moore, Boyle) to be able to handle this Brassard injury. I'd imagine JT Miller gets back into the lineup if Brass is to miss extended time. This is a tough loss if for no other reason than that line's chemistry, but they can fight through it with Moore and better production from the Stepan line.

Hope this isn't too serious.

Good period by us (still not perfect)... totally dreadful period by MTL, their worst of the playoffs.

Yeah, but MTL got a lot of adjusting to do from the BOS series. We can keep playing like we have. I think that is showing more than anything.

A few things though:

1. MTL has some slow Ds. We have some fast forwards.

2. Following the FOs was really interesting this first period. Two teams struggling in the circles, but a new match up is a new matchup and we really owned them. Awesome to see from Step, Moore, Boyle and Richards.

3. McD will look to up his game another level.

4. MTL is quick and good at getting away from bugger players. Kreider and Pouliot will need to work harder to catch players in this series.

Rangers have better depth and better defense so if they play like they have been we should be fine. Hopefully Brass isnt hurt too bad

Having Dom Moore, who is able to play 3rd line center, step in for Brassard is what gives this team the edge. We have the depth to deal with this.

I do hope it's just a 1-game injury and he is back on Monday.

I've seen us have better periods than this up there and still loose, so I am still nervous... ;)

Seriously though, the place is quite like a church, but then they get one goal and you end up in that whirlwind... Keep going!

The versatility of Dominic Moore is very welcome.

The guy has some serious skill for a fourth liner. Rangers need to pay him handsomely to keep him. That kind of passing from a 4C is unreal, and the guy fills every other responsibility of a 4C.

This guy is making $1M this year. $1M! One of the best value contracts for a bottom six guy I've seen in a while. Probably ever in my time watching this team.

You do realize he has dislocated both shoulders, right? Left in the QMJHL in 2006 and right in the NHL in 2008.

Both shoulders have been surgically repaired. No idea what you and nevesis are talking about.

Is this serious? I don't know anything about injuries and I'm getting a little worked up...

What you say is true. I cannot believe how lukewarm i was about him becoming a Ranger again. My stupid
