Trying to figure out why this schedule date table:

View attachment 562845

Produces this schedule (wrong dates). Trying to do the semifinals on December 31 on this one, but because it wants to schedule games on December 31, it's pushing the playoff to January 2.

View attachment 562846

This may be a dumb question, but you can do schedule templates for these short tournaments, right? I only thought of this now, but it's not a season, it's just a tournament.
Do you have "No random dates" selected under flags?

I hadn't, but it doesn't appear to be the issue. Availability of the building looks like it could be a problem though, because it's the same building as the Panthers and I have them home on the 29th and 30th of December. It's not letting me do anything at all on December 24 though, it appears to push those dates up.

Will the template actually work for this though?

Schedule template will only work for the initial stage(s), so it will depending on what stage this is.

Thinking this holiday college tournament thing I've been going for isn't going to work. The test sim has it slowing to a crawl on those dates, guessing because I'm asking it to do too much.

Hi, I'm having issues loading a saved game using the EHMAssistant 1.5.0.38

It takes very long to load, It usually gets stuck at the "loading images (clubs) (3/3)"

Does anyone know what the problem is? thanks.

Not sure what exactly your problem is but you can disable images in the settings for the assistant and I've found it makes it load up a lot quicker and might solve your issue there.

How many teams do you have in it?

Also else do you have turned on in that sim?

It’s 8 or 9 tournaments with 4-6 teams each and only the NHL and NCAA but my custom NCAA league is larger.

I was starting to have a similar issue with another 12-team tournament that I have scheduled for August where I couldn’t see box scores for the playoff phase.

I'm guessing the next roster update won't be until after free agency, but how long after is it typically? Wanted to start a new Stars save, but want to wait for their top prospects Johston, Bourque, Stankoven and the new draft/free agency.

Can the EHM Assistant create leagues in any way?

It's been a hope of mine to create an Iberian Portugal/Spain summer league to help their prospects grow. I just don't want to start a save all over again.

We are taking sign up forms for v19 of HF Boards EHM Superstar. We've been evolving adding new interactive features to the series. We'd also like to thank @xECK29x and @BKarchitect for their work on databases we have used. I think we will be going with NHLX again for the international features and I know BK said he'd help out with some modifications which we are so grateful for! (LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED ANY HELP).

But if youre interested please feel free to sign up! Would love to have you, we've got some interesting players already posted!

Test simming the new season of NHLX and thought it would be fun to go ten years out from the draft and see where the 2022 1st round picks ended up in their careers...your mileage may vary! :)

1. Juraj Slafkovsky
Attributes
Stats
- Ugh. Sorry Habs fans. Despite great potential, in this sim, Slaf ended up basically being Kotkaniemi Mark II. Stayed in TPS his post draft year then came over and had an unremarkable rookie year. Bounced back down to the AHL for a while. Showed signs of a breakout in 28-29 with 50 points in 70 games but then reverted back to basically being a good third line role player.

2. Simon Nemec
Attributes
Stats
- Nemec has been a mainstay on the Devils blueline for the better part of a decade. Continued one additional year with Nitra before joining the Devils. Not flashy but super effective - great skater and great mental and technical attributes. Offense was slow to show but is now a regular 45-50 point contributor (in the 70 game NHLX regular season) and has finished the runner-up for the Langway Trophy (NHL Best Defensive Defenseman) twice now.

3. Logan Cooley
Attributes
Stats
- The uber-talented American center played one year at the University of Minnesota before going pro. Showed promise with the Coyotes before being dealt to the Wild in a blockbuster for Kirill Kaprizov in 2025. Has become an all-star who regularly score more than a point-per-game as the Wild's #1 center and also has a slew of international awards with Team USA.

4. Shane Wright
Attributes
Stats
- At least the Habs passed on Wright. After falling surprisingly to #4 on draft night, Wright has been an epic bust in the NHL where he has pretty much been solely a bottom six player. He spent one additional year with Kingston and simply didn't develop. His best season is 39 points in 63 games and he's a -106 in his career despite really good defensive attributes. Traded by the Kraken to the Jets in a minor deal in 2028, the change of scenery produced no different results.

5. Cutter Gauthier
Attributes
Stats
- The big centerman had a slow start to his pro career after one season at Boston College but has blossomed in the last 2-3 seasons as a big-time star. Sometimes the power forward types really do take longer to develop. Was an all-star this past season and is now a point-per-game beast for the Flyers - skilled and strong and mean...just like the Flyers envisioned as a new Broadstreet Bully.

6. David Jiricek
Attributes
Stats
- The burly defenseman spent one additional year in Czechia before turning pro with the Blue Jackets. He's not a pretty skater but he's a true force on the blueline with his size and strength. He now roams the San Jose blueline, acquired from the Bleu Jackets via trade in 2028. His offense has slowly come around - he's coming off a career high 14-goal, 43-point season after scoring 27 points in 35 games the year before.

7. Kevin Korchinski
Attributes
Stats
- Forever linked as the guy the Hawks traded DeBrincat for, Korchinski spent one more season in Seattle in the WHL and then stepped right into the NHL and hasn't looked back. The speedy defender has plenty of flair and while he has yet to become an all-star level player, he's a workhorse on the blueline and power play for the Hawks and also, due to the Hawks sucking a lot, has been a Team Canada mainstay on many World Championship winning teams.

8. Marco Kasper
Attributes
Stats
- The Austrian spent one additional year in Sweden before turning pro - his rookie year in Detroit was a bit of a disaster and he spent three seasons back in the AHL trying to find his game but has emerged as a third line warrior type with great defensive and face-off ability and incredible stamina - although his offense has never truly blossomed with last season's 38 points his career high. despite some nice technical skills. The Wings let him go to free agency in 2031 and he was snatched up by Vancouver.

9. Matt Savoie
Attributes
Stats
- Undersized but full of speed, skill and energy - Savoie turned pro in 2023 after one last season in the WHL. Was immediately a solid contributor as a versatile middle-six type forward but has kicked things up a notch the last few years as a second line stalwart for the Blues - with a career high 30 goals and 66 points in 2029-30. Was traded by the Sabres to the Blues prior to that season for a 1st round pick. Not a star but has settled in as a great top six performer.

10. Pavel Mintyukov
Attributes
Stats
- The dynamic rearguard spent one more year in Saginaw before going pro with the Ducks. He's had some slight injury issues lately but when healthy he is a 40+ point defender who can really control the game from the back end with great skating, a variety of offensive skills and surprising chippiness. He really tends to blast a lot of shots on net too. Also ended up on the Blues - the Ducks (stupidly I might add) dealt him for a second round pick in 2028 due to their loaded blueline situation.

To Be Continued...

11. Conor Geekie
Attributes
Stats
- The lanky center was always going to be a bit of a project for the Coyotes who hoped with some patience it would pay off with big upside. After another year in the WHL and then a full season in the AHL (during which he was very good), Geekie made the Coyotes but results have been fairly disappointing. He loked to be turning the corner two seasons ago with 50 points in 69 games but fell back to a more typical 34 point season last year as mostly a third-line type player.

12. Denton Mateychuk
Attributes
Stats
- Smooth skating defender had an excellent 22-23 season in Moose Jaw and then went pro. Spent several seasons bouncing between Columbus and Cleveland but finally became a full-time NHLer in 2027-28, albeit in a depth role. Dealt to Anaheim in a deal of Urho Vaakanainen in 2030. Looks like this past season he finally elevated to more of a middle pairing role with 7 goals, 28 points and a +11 in 65 games.

13. Frank Nazar
Attributes
Stats
- Nazar spent two seasons at the University of Michigan after getting drafted and then turned pro in 24-25. He's become a fan favorite in the WIndy City - one of those invaluable swiss-army knife middle six forwards with an incredible motor. His career high of 26 goals isn't star material but he's a terrific player and winner - two WJC championships with Team USA and has already represented the senior Team USA 56 times with 29 points. A guy who is more valuable than just his point totals.

14. Rutger McGroarty
Attributes
Stats
- Similarly to Nazar, McGroarty spent two years at Michigan before turning pro. His path has been a bit slower and included more AHL time at the start but much like Nazar, McGroarty is another guy who is more influential than his point totals indicate - although upon signing with the Leafs as a free agent last year he immediately put up a career high 29 goals so maybe the offense is just getting unlocked. He's not a great skater but he's a determined leader who plays a physical two-way game with a bit of a scoring touch.

15. Johnathan Lekkerimäki
Attributes
Stats
- The Canucks let the talented winger develop slowly, with a year in the Europa Super League followed by a full stint in the AHL acclimating to North American hockey. The Swede is an absolute technical wizard in the offensive zone and is coming off back-to-back 30+ goal seasons, with a career high 35 goals and 57 points in 61 games this past year indicating he could be evolving into a real star.

16. Noah Östlund
Attributes
Stats
- Speaking of wizards, Lekkerimäki's former centerman is one as well. Like the winger picked one spot ahead, Östlund spent a season in the ESL before enjoying a successful transition to the AHL before getting the call from the Sabres. A wonderful talent both technically and mentally and slippery quick - Östlund has been a mild disappointment in the actual production department. The biggest factor is his reluctance to shoot which neuters he overall impact despite the awesome skillset. A career high of 41 points just doesn't seem right given his skill but he averages less than 10 goals per season.

17. Joakim Kemll
Attributes
Stats
- The short but stocky Finnish winger was a draft night faller back in 2022. He's a dangerous scorer but has fairly average physical tools by NHL standards. Spent a year in Liiga after the draft followed by two years in the NHL. Has since developed into a pretty regular 25 goal scorer. Last off-season he was traded by Nashville to the Kings for Quinton Byfield in a very interesting swap. His first year in LA was cut short by injury. Hasn't become exceptional but is a very useful secondary scoring player.

18. Liam Bichsel
Attributes
Stats
- The burly rearguard spent one additional season in the SHL becore playing a full season in the AHL with the Texas Stars. Has since developed into a low-maintenance, lower pairing defender who brings a lot of toughness and a defensive presence and actually has a great first outlet pass but overall lacks much in offensive ingenuity and has never really developed the skating mobility to shine in a big way. Boston is his third NHL club after Dallas and a stint with the Wild. One of those useful if forgettable players who will get passed around a lot I reckon.

19. Liam Öhgren
Attributes
Stats
-The third Djurgarden kid on the list and the least "flashy", Öhgrenspent a year in the ESL before jumping over the pond but has found the going much tougher than his former teammates. After four years toiling in the AHL, Öhgren made the jump to the Wild. Had a career high 31 points in 2030-31 but injuries and poor play have seen him fall back down the Wild pecking order - so far in fact that he spent much of last year as a veteran back in the AHL. His NHL future is murky - he's a hard-working two-way player but none of his skills pop at the top level.

20. Ivan Miroshnichenko
Attributes
Stats
-What a story. Always a big talent, Miro fell on draft day for a number of factors - one of which was the reluctance to invest in Russian players given world events at the time but mainly due to his battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. If you look at Miro's stats page you will see he didn't even play in the 22-23 season after the draft. But he made a full recovery from his disease and after spending his last contractual year playing for Avangard in the KHL - he made the jump to the Caps in 24-25. And the rest is history - Miro has become the post-Ovechkin centerpiece for the Caps and a true superstar - he just finished his best year yet with 46 goals and 82 points in 70 games. His last four years (keep in mind the 70 game NHLX schedule): 38, 37, 42 and 46 goals. He may not quite be Ovechkin but he's really become the best thing the Caps could have dreamed of to carry the mantle forward and the all-star winger may yet have a Rocket trophy type season in him. Considering he beat cancer - the rest is gravy but he is certainly living his NHL dream to the fullest.

So I loaded up the Pivot database just for fun to try the DeBrincat trade... and neither side accepted the deal.

from Chicago's side, Ottawa feared that: "DeBrincat is overpaid"

from Ottawa's side, Chicago: "Doesn't want to give up a future franchise player like DeBrincat in such a deal"

so this must mean its a good deal for both sides right!?!?!? :naughty::naughty::naughty:

21. Owen Pickering
Attributes
Stats
- The tall defender spent one year in the WHL with Swift Current after the draft before turning pro. Bounced around between Pittsburgh and Wilkes-Barre for a while before eventually becoming a lower pair staple for several seasons. However he found a lack of NHL interest in free agency last summer so spent the season playing in Kazakhstan of all places. Never developed mobility or any sense of translatable offensive skills and his NHL future is in jeopardy.

22. Nathan Gaucher
Attributes
Stats
- After spending another year in the QJMHL and then two full seasons in the NHL, Gaucher has been a staple bottom six player for the Ducks and Rosebuds in the NHL. He's incredible defensively (seriously - 20's for checking, pokechecking and positioning and an 18 determination) but has never been a point producer.

Editor's note: EHMN tends to handle these types of players very poorly - they should be better and more valuable than the sim represents them as.

23. Jimmy Snuggerud
Attributes
Stats
- Snuggerrud, like Gaucher, also turned into a very impressive defensive forward presence after a longer development path that saw two seasons at the University of Minnesota and then three full AHL seasons before cracking the Blues line-up. Actually has some good offensive technical traits but just hasn't been able to crack even the 30 point scoring threshold.

24. Danila Yurov
Attributes
Stats
- The well-rounded winger has been a star since arriving in 2023-24 from the KHL. Last year was a bit of a down year but prior to that Yurov had compiled point totals (in a 70 game season) of 68, 61, 62, 62, and 60) and goal totals of 30, 26, 35, 39 and 32 with an all-star appearance. Not overly flashy but just super productive and consistent and also a great player for Team Russia (62 points in 63 games). A steal at this point in the draft.

25. Sam Rinzel
Attributes
Stats
- Rinzel spent three years at the University of Minnesota before turning pro, making the Blackhawks from the jump with no AHL time. In retrospect - that may not have been a great thing - he's been a regular NHL player but in a depth role and some of his attributes just didn't take off like they potentially could have with perhaps a slower development track. A solid veteran lower pair defender at this point but not much else going on.

26. Filip Mesar
Attributes
Stats
- Despite being a skilled and high upside player as a prospect, the Slovak forward has been a major disappointment for the Habs and found himself playing in the ICEHL last season with little NHL interest. Played for Kitchener in the OHL after the draft and then with Laval but his NHL record since then is mediocre - 14 goals and 28 points in 155 games. Looks like being a high-level Euro league player is his future.

27. Filip Bystedt
Attributes
Stats
- Bystedt is a huge, burly center who was a bit of a project pick and that bore out - one season post-draft in Sweden followed by 4 full years in the AHL without a single call-up. Eventually made it with Sharks as a decent bottom six forward with size and defensive ability but the past two years he's been back in Sweden and is likely to remain in Europe for the foreseeable future.

28. Jiri Kulich
Attributes
Stats
- Kulich was another slow-burn developer with one year in the Q with Cape Breton followed by 4 years in the AHL. Once he arrived with the Sabres, he was something of a depth player as Buffalo had amassed an impressive collection of young prospects all arriving in the NHL around the same time. Fed up with his role, he signed with Tampa this past off-season and responded with a career high 23 goals. Not very speedy or creative but good all-around skills and scoring ability, an Ondrej Palat-lite role on Tampa seems to fit him well.

29. Maveric Lamoureux
Attributes
Stats
- The absolutely towering blueliner has already been something of a journeyman in his NHL career but despite limited offensive skills and mobility, his presence is valued by NHL clubs. Played one more year in the Q and three in the AHL before making the league. Great defensively and a real intimidating presence - he has played for Arizona, the Rangers, Portland (where he won the Cup) and now Buffalo where he is coming off his most productive season with a modest 20 points.

30. Brad Lambert
Attributes
Stats
- Lambert was once viewed as a game-changing prospect at a young age but fell on draft night almost out of the first round entirely. It turns out he should have slid further. The first prospect in this draft to not even appear in any NHL games, Lambert tried his luck in the WHL in his post-draft season before three seasons in the AHL with zero call-ups. Headed back to Europe where he has jumped around between 4 Finnish-based clubs already - further showing the lack of stability he has had since he was young. As fast as ever but never developed much in the technical or mental departments - certainly not enough to make the grade in the NHL. Sometimes guys fall in the draft for a reason with a lot of red flags despite physical ability - Lambert may be the new poster boy for that.

31. Isaac Howard
Attributes
Stats
- From a much-hyped bust at pick 30 to a totally un-hyped STEAL at 31. Howard spent two years at Minnesota-Duluth before turning pro and making the Lightning straight away. His first few years saw him make slow gains but then Howard exploded and hasn't stopped getting better. At or near the point-per-game mark the last four seasons, he's coming off his best yet, now with the Kings, with 32 goals and 85 points in 70 games in the 2031-32 season to go along with 19 points in 12 games in the American Championship where he was a first-team all-star and runner up for best forward of the entire tournament. A delightfully smart and skilled star with the hunger to get better.

Editor's Note: Howard's potential ability (PA) is set at only 155. Which is second line territory. But in this game he came loaded with elite level consistency. This is further proof that EHM is not a game where CA/PA are the be all, end all of a player's development ceiling. Conor Geekie, from this draft for example, had a much higher PA but in this particular sim was a letdown. Mental attributes matter, development path matters, usage matters. I may do a sim tomorrow and Howard with the same PA becomes a bust. That's the beauty of it.

32. Reid Schaefer
Attributes
Stats
- A big two-way forward, Schaefer was picked by Edmonton to eventually provide the kind of gritty, versatile mid-six depth that all successful teams have. And early on it looked promising, he made the Oilers full-time after only one more season in the WHL and put up 13 goals and 27 points in 65 games by his age 23 season. But that would be his high point as he kind of regressed into a 4th line role before ending up out of the NHL entirely with a British EIHL team.

So this the 2024 World Cup, Group B. Looks like its fine when it goes back to the playoffs (have the host as Scotiabank Arena since I can't figure out how to get it in big enough arenas around Canada). It also seems to prevent the teams from selecting NHL players, but looks like it does for Group A. Think this is the last thing I'm doing before finally playing the save. I've probably been at this for longer than it's going to be worth.

Silly question, do you have a Host Arena set on Basic Data?

Yes, I have it set to Scotiabank Arena. It does show up in Group A and the playoff stage. I originally copied the data from the World Championships

WC has some hard coding into the game, better one to copy would be NaturEnergie Challenge:

One thing I would also do, sometimes the Editor can get a little funny is just click into each Arena rules and date 1 arena rules in the Schedule Dates and manually click on Host Arena then hit the TAB key to set the value, sometimes I find values don't "stick".
