Where is Pivot v6.7 database located? Thanks.
There’s actually 2 different unrecognised values, you’ll see it when I get this uploaded on the db (it’s probably in the original copy of the db too). It’s only in the Four Nation tournaments that I can see, I haven’t checked every one. It can reproduce when I copy in the rules and structures, just not when I add or edit a date.
That ‘Summer U-20 Challenge’ on my save/db is an edited version of the Swedish Four Nations U-20, where I changed the teams and added a 5th team (part of my worldbuild to give U-20 teams more to do, I was trying to recreate the U-20 showcase they do in the summer now).Ok so the Unrecognised Value is an easy fix and it included in the Editor update I'll be pushing today. There's three values I've found and added to the Editor: 192, 32,704 and 32,712. I don't know what these values mean, so they'll have placeholder names for the time being. I've asked Riz if he can let me know what they mean and I can then update their descriptions in the Editor. These will now import/export without any issue via the schedule_dates spreadsheet.
I was able to set a host arena without any issue too. I tried this on the latest Pivot Rosters with the Finnish Four Nations U-20 Tournament. The steps are as follows:
BASIC DATA:
Host Arena: [Whatever arena you want]
Host Club: None
STAGES -> SCHEDULE DATES:
For each of the rows, make the following changes:
Arena Rules: Host arena
TV Date 1 Arena Rules: Host arena
TV Date 1 Time: Evening
TV Date 1 Type: Silent (no message)
AFAIK the TV Dates are use in two scenarios: (1) where a game is selected for TV broadcast (e.g. if TV games are to face-off at a different day/time compared with normal scheduled games) and (2) where there is a schedule conflict (either because two teams cannot play that day or the arena is in use).
I haven't specifically tested your DB as I'm not sure how your Summer Tournament was created in the DB. If the above changes do not work then I'd suggested starting afresh with the Pivot DB and making a few changes at a time and then testing in-game. This will help you identify what change causes a crash. The game now has a really useful Test Sim function which disables a lot of the sim functions in order to quickly test edited league structures in-game - e.g. it takes about a minute to sim a season in Test Sim. The Test Sim function can only be accessed as soon as you start a new saved game. The option disappears as soon as you click on Continue in-game. To access it, start a new saved game and then click on the settings button (the cog icon in the top-right corner) -> Selected Leagues -> Test Leagues (top right corner, beneath the Continue button) -> Select the date you want to sim to -> Confirm.
How are the newgen goalies in this update?
Did that editor update get pushed? Just making sure I didn’t miss it somewhere.
I think I have things straight here after doing more editing of the schedule, but I can't get separate afternoon-evening slots for the games, even though I (think?) I have it set up in the schedule dates panel. I think these arena rules values have to do with a specific formula for the arenas, because it wasn't recognizing the arena I selected without having 'host arena' under all the 'date (1-6) arena rules, which maybe that's what supposed to happen. But I noticed that when it needs to add it's own date upon startup, it kept sending the teams to Sweden (which is the U-20 tournament I edited this from), so maybe that has something to do with it. But i guess it wouldn't matter if I have the spreadsheet done properly.Yeah sorry I tend not to post updates over here but I can if there's interest. The latest download is here (but I'm guessing you found it) Eastside Hockey Manager Editor (v1.1.6) - EHM The Blue Line
I will have a look at that 5 team U20 tournament at some point but I'm mid-way through some work on Editor v2 which I really want to get finished first.
CHANGELIST: VERSION 1.1.6 (03-January-2022)
Fixes and Improvements:
- Added a confirmation dialog when deleting items from any of the following editor screens: Finance Info, Rules & Structures, Ruling Bodies, Schedule Templates and Transfer Rules;
- Added extra "Invalid Job" value specific to national club jobs; and
- Added three extra Arena Rules values (x00C0, x7FC0 and x7FC8) with temporary descriptions pending confirmation as to what these values mean.
I do have afternoon and evening picked under the tv dates 1 and 2, but the game didn't display a difference like you'd see in other leagues. I don't know yet if I care about that as long as it did it and I achieved great success. I want to do more of these tournaments so I'll keep an eye on it.
I have the 5 date and it appears to be working under this input. At long last!So I've got a new U20 tournament up and running with a host arena. I created this by copying and pasting the Swedish Four Nations U20 and have set out the steps to follow below. The only things you need to change are what I list below. Everything else stays the same. You could also follow the instructions below but miss out Step 1 if you want to edit an existing Four Nations Tournament into a five team tournament.
STEP 1
Select the Swedish Four Nations U-20 Tournament -> Add Item -> Add Item (Copy current item).
STEP 2
BASIC DATA
Competition: U20 Super Challenge (I'm just using this as an example)
Number of teams: 5
Host arena: MEN Arena, GBR (I'm just using this as an example)
Host club: None
COMP RULES
Max league games: 4
STRUCTURE
Add a fifth U20 club of your choice (I added Team GB U20 just as an example)
STAGES: STRUCTURE
Number of dates: 4 (NOTE: Whilst I set this as 4 for this example, it should actually be set to 5 in order to allow enough dates for the games. Setting it to 4 still works but the schedule will actually push into a fifth day in EHM)
Number of teams: 5
STAGES: SCHEDULE DATES
Add a fourth row (and ideally a fifth per my note above) with the Date, Day and Year Offset of your choice (you can set the Day as -1 if you want the game to always occur on the specific date and not move to the nearest specific day of the week). Then set them up as follows:
- Time: Afternoon
- Arena rules: Host arena
- TV Date 1 Arena Rules: Host arena
- TV Date 1 Time: Evening
- TV Date 1 Type: Silent (no message)
- All other settings should be None/Invalid/-1
If you wanted to mix it up, you could change the TV Date 1 Arena Rule to Nearby Arena instead of Host Arena. But note that the nearby arena will be based on the nationality of the competition and not the nationality of the host arena. E.g. on the Club Competitions screen you'll see that the U20 Super Challenge has a Swedish nationality and so the nearby arena would be a Swedish arena.

Now, it appears that even though I am setting these tournaments in the summer (right now), it's not releasing USHL and CHL players, so, along with other players, it's not filling the Canada or US U-20 rosters, I guess because all the players aren't made available.
So, here is a question: I want to set up the Mexican League teams with affiliates in the NAHL to send their 18/19 YO's (maybe they improve more? seems smart), but I only want their contracted players to mix with the NAHL players, and not really have to have the NAHL contracted players called up. Basically how NHL-AHL-ECHL affiliates work where they have their own players. But it's a junior affiliation.
So can I do:
Type: Junior (Secondary)
Dependency: Semi-independent
I've yet to sim through it because I was working though the U-20 stuff. The only thing I don't really have worked out is (a) enough players for the league - I don't know yet how to make the no-hockey countries in the database more robust and (b) a pro affiliate system. I actually have affiliated a few with NHL teams. How did this work out for you? Did you end up setting this up?
I've been wanting to make a domestic league for Portugal for years, but don't want to bug and crash my game. It would be a similar set-up, 20 or so games in the summer just to 'improve' their youth players. Right now I'm just editing random players with the EHM Assistant.

I'm wondering if anyone can do this for me as a favor. Can anyone edit the original DB that comes with the game, and just import more first/last names of all countries? I understand there are so many fantasy-style DBs out there, and would love to have a bigger pool of names.

Good news! The process definitely becomes easier once you've edited a few leagues. The Editor's screens could be more intuitive and I'm overhauling them for Editor v2 which will hopefully be released in the next year or so.
It's a good question and probably someone like BKArchitect or xECK29x is better placed to answer. However, I do know that xECK29x has come across an interesting bug with the Canadian U20 team in particular which is resulting in the team not filling its rosters - see here: Bug with Team Canada - Eastside Hockey Manager Bugs Forum - Sports Interactive Community (sigames.com). Whether or not this is the same as your issue is hard to say but it might be worth adding your observations to that bug report.

I believe doing anything over the summer for NA leagues won't work because it's considered the "UFA" period for all leagues until around late August. I bet there are some logic limitations with the game that won't allow NA games played in July. I'd try maybe scheduling it in early September then rolling backwards and see where it starts to behave funny to prove the theory out.

Is it just me or there's significantly more "talented" players compared to the game from 2 years ago?
In my current sim I can get 1st line/top pair quality defensemen left and right on very good contracts, often on waivers even. FAs are stacked every offseason too.
