It must be fun to be a Sharks fan heading into 2024/25 with a top-5 pick from each of the last 3 drafts.

I wonder if the three of them competing against each other for the Calder will hurt them?
We only have Smith and Celebrini. 2022 we traded back from 11, and 2021 we picked eklund #7.

Gauthier was a typo, he's a Ducks prospect.

Voted Savoie. Why? Because that's just the Sabres luck. None.

I think it's going to be Michkov vs some older players like Stankoven or Will Smith.
Michkov is 3 months older than Smith lol.

Michkov is definitely the favourite here. He's got the pedigree, experience against men, and obviously the talent. I think one of the SJS rookies will be a finalist, but they will struggle at times on this bad of a team.

I think Michkov, Celebrini, and Gauthier are the finalists.

Stankoven or Celebrini. I picked Stankoven. Kid is a bulldog and will not only get some slam dunk goals and points because the Stars are so good, but he'll drive play and create a lot of plays that lead to points.

As a SJ fan with two hopeful candidates, I'm going Michkov.

He's a year older than Celebrini, has two seasons' experience in the KHL, and as long as he plays hard for Torts, he'll get his PP1 time.

I think Celebrini and Smith will struggle a bit out of the gate for various reasons mostly centering around our D not really improving much from last year. We'll spend a lot of time hemmed in the D zone. Fewer OZ starts. Even with a decent PP, won't likely be enough to have them at the top of the voting, even if they get some votes.

I would love to be wrong.
Michkov is technically 2 hockey years older than Celebrini. 2004 versus 2006. I know Michkov is a late birthday but still

Yeah, I know, I mean older compared to Celebrini...

Next to no chance that MN's rookies will make it two in a row.

Stankoven is taking it home.

The best candidate for the Habs is neither of those two defencemen. Josh Roy is still Calder eligible and could very well be on the top two lines for Montreal. If that happens he is most definitely a dark horse.

Slaf - Suzuki - Roy
Newhook - Dach - Caufield

So far, the HFBoards voting would look like this:

1. Matvei Michkov
2T. Macklin Celebrini
2T. Logan Stankoven
4. Cutter Gauthier
5. Lane Hutson

Not a bad crop of rookies there.

Really nice group. Out of these, I can speak for Montreal that Hutson will have a strong chance to go for the Calder. He should get ample PP time to put up points. I don't see St Louis giving him 10 min per game so he should get a lot of playing time. Team situations go a long way with this award some teams don't give their rookies the opportunity from a minutes and situational perspective.

Other teams fans can fill it in for their team/situation. At first glance all these listed players will probably get the opportunity (minutes).

I think this is spot on. Each of these players can have outstanding campaigns if things fall into place.

Voted Celebrini.....Sharks will be terrible again and give up a ton of goals, but they're looking at Celebrini to score, not defend.

So freed from the heavy lifting in his own zone, he'll get oodles of PP time and offensive zone starts. He'll pad his stats for sure, provided he can stay healthy.
