No point dealing him, when you don't need the cap room, nor have an alternative as 3rd line center until maybe a player like Beck develops into one. Moving him probably falls behind Hoffman, Armia, Gallagher, Edmunston in priority. Need to move the useless wingers first, not the average 3rd line center.
Armia buyout very likely this summer, Gallagher is gonna be on the payroll for a long time they've got a couple years before even thinking about that one

Little to none

Not a terrible player and traditional cap dump that would require assets to dump.

But I think he’s someone who would be involved in a trade just to make money work and change things up, or because a team needs to replace a body.

Don’t think many, if any teams see him as someone to target to make their team better or upgrade.

Nobody is going to give anything positive for a milquetoast third liner without any special trait who is signed for two more years at $4.45 AAV and an even worse $5.725 in real salary.

The Habs will probably need to keep him for at least this season. For 24-25, if they do 50% retainage as a rental he’ll have some value.

Dubois but I’d probably ask for a small add like Kidney. :sarcasm:

All joking aside, no team will pay $11,475,000 of actual cash over the next two years for this skid mark. It’s a dump. Montreal needs to add to get rid of him.

PS: Don’t think I don’t know why you created this thread… but I approve of it.

He's litterally been on pace for 40+ pts in 3 of his last 4 seasons.

But I guess you want to argue sementics, just as about everytime I read anything on here. This board is a shithole.

Just curious while being on pace for 40 pts why didn't ever achieve 40 pts?

Dvorak is a useful player that is strong on the dot. GM do put value on these depth players.

Lars Eller was a very similar player and was traded for 2 second round picks. I would Dvorak's value is at least a mid to late 2nd round pick + a small cap dump

You made a ridiculous point. “Pace” that never gets realized after 7 seasons becomes a meaningless, and not a valued concept.
Bro, if you don't understand that 2 of those 4 seasons were cut short due to covid and that injuries sometimes happens, there's nothing I can do for you.

Well depending on how you look at it, Montreal gave up a 1st a 2nd for him…or the 3rd OA pick in the 2018 draft, so I am sure if you ask them he is untouchable.

7 seasons, no 40 point campaigns.

Injuries happen… yeah… but if you struggle to stay healthy each year, teams will looks at your actual production and not pace that never gets realized.

Eller was an outstanding even strength player. Dvorak isn’t and has never been one. He’s an ok two-way player who doesn’t excel at anything and plays more than he should because Montreal is rebuilding. Keep him this year then he will have a market next year with retained salary as a rental.

A Montreal fan's best friends "pace and small sample sizes". It's always "well if you look at this 3 game stretch, player x is a 40 goal scorer, or if you take player y's pace, he's a 100 point guy".

It's never based on what said Montreal player has actually accomplished, it's always based on what he could have done, if he was consistent and his luck continued on long enough to do it in a perfect world with a 10 or 20% increase tacked on.

Just like calling Dvorak a 40 point player when he's never reached that plateau in 6+ seasons.
