Finally the Bruins have some cap space to work with. That $5.7m in room looks really nice right now.

What do you want for Fowler?

Spooner only costs $950K on the cap and he scored 50 points last year.

Spooner would be ideal. It'd be nice to get a pick or decent prospect in the trade too. Nothing too fancy, at least as far as I care.

Fan speculation has been that Ducks would look to either Detroit (Tatar, Mantha, Svech) or Boston (Spooner, Pastrnak) when trading Fowler. Would like Spooner and since Vermette can also play wing, the third line could look like Vermette, Spooner, Rakell. More of a 2(b) line.

will actually be surprised if its NOT Depres to NJ

I don't think it will be Despres. If Fowler was staying, than I'd say it was possible. However, I don't think that's going to happen so no way are they going to want Bieksa in the top 4.

People seem to forget, Mountor himself said he is NHL ready. Kid wants to shine in the big league. Theodore is already a lock for the team. Its gotta be one of bieksa or stoner going with fowler as well. Or maybe they are trading Cogliano.

Why isn't this deal done already? The Bruins need defense so bad.

Is Fowler terrible or something?

that is a very good point, i thought it might have been waived since he got traded to anaheim and its up to the teams discretion to honour it (subban and nashville). If he has a NMC then we would need it waived otherwise its a no go

The Subban NMC hadn't kicked in yet. This is what started all the Subban rumors with the analysts saying it is possible he would be traded before the NMC kicked in on his new contract.

no one is going after stoner because they think theyre improving their bottom pair. He sucks and he makes too much money. Expect a solid return for the team who takes him.

The only way moving Stoner makes sense for ANA is if someone takes on his full contract. Eating half his contract doesnt really do much for Murray.

In order for any team to be willing to take on Stoner at $3.25 mil they will have to be handsomely rewarded, a 2nd rd pick at worst IMO

Stoner at $3.25 mil is pure trash. Like Bickell at $4 mil comparable trash

No one ever said that BM would've to eat 50% of Stoners contract. All we said is that BM might have to add say a 2nd round pick on top to move his contract that could entice a few teams NJ included.

No, Ducks weren't willing to trade Fowler until Lindholm was resigned. Insurance measure and didn't want to give Lindholm any more leverage.

He is a good skater and good mobile defender, He is however afraid to take the hit to make the play and often looses the board battles against bigger guys.

Fowler will be a hockey trade, he won't be unloaded. Stoner or Bieksa would be what I'd consider unloading a significant contract. I'd pay a 2nd rounder or B level prospect to get either of them the hell out of Anaheim.

It will take more than a 2nd or mid prospect to move those contracts. See what the Hawks gave up to move one year of Bickel.

Hawks moving Bickell is different than the Ducks moving Stoner. Bickell is a 4 mil contract that can't hack it in the NHL anymore. Stoner is at least a serviceable bottom pairing defenseman at 3.25 mil. If the Ducks retained some salary, he could be worth what the new team pays him and justify the deal with his play. Bickell can't.
