The Ducks need to play with more balls. If Gudas as a captain helps with that, I'm all for it.
Holy reach hahaha. They have more cups in last 5 years then you do playoff series wins in the past 20.If the Leafs are such a joke, surely the fan of the only team to lose a playoffs series to the leafs in 20+ years should be in no position to chirp?
They're not going to get the puck if they don't battle harder more consistentlyNo, they need to play more with the puck
looks like some cte behavior
Gudas still living rent free in Toronto
Baby Radko would already be taking numbers.
I'm really puzzled by these decisions.
Like, maybe the respective organizations feel they have chosen the best man for the job, and maybe they are right.
But I feel like in these cases the best man is no man, and they should just go with all A's until a legit candidate emerges.
Derek MacKenzie with the Panthers is a recent example. Seems unnecessary when there's a good chance you could replace him within a year.
Quack quack quack!
The Mighty Ducks are back!!
It’s like if Bombay would’ve given the “C” to Fulton Reed and not Charlie…
Fulton Reed was one of the players with heart , now if he gave the “C” to like Averman then yeah…
we've been without a captain for 2 seasons. the potential future captains (Mctavish, Carlsson) are 21 and 19. let them learn from someone they and the organization thinks is captain material and he can pass it on once they are ready; which will probably be in 2 years when his contract is done.I'm really puzzled by these decisions.

The ducks arent even the most promising rebuilding team in californiaYou do know he was previously a captain right?
Classy enough to eat up all that salary and get the team nowhere in 7 years. The ducks will do more under Gudas than the entire Tavares saga with the Laughs, not that it's a high bar.
The leafs have nothing to do with the ducks ongoing rebuild so not sure why the comparison to tavares and leafs was made by numerous posters hereThe Gudas lead ducks are going to eliminate the Lightning in a playoff series, twice?
Pretty sure we made Neidermeyer the captain shortly after his arrival. Nor is someone like Fowler or Terry going to be the better option as a leader.I see a lot of strong reactions to Gudas that I don't share.
I don't think Gudas is an awful choice. He's a good guy, and probably should end up with an A on his jersey. But it says a lot about the Ducks and their current lack of leadership that they have to promote a guy who only joined the org a year ago and who isn't exactly renown for his legendary leadership.
In other words, the problem is not necessarily choosing Gudas but rather the lack of other, more legit options. It's not like the Ducks are an expansion team. They have a lot of players who have spent many years there, some who have only played for this franchise.
