With all that Star power? Ducks wish they had one of those guys like Matthews or Tavares in their Top 6.
No doubt Matthews and the rest of the first line have been amazing and our 3rd line as well as Rielly and brodie have been solid but it ends there. Tavares and Nylander have put up lots of points but look like they are sleep walking most games, our 4th line has been meh all season and our defense besides the top two have been hit or miss for months now. The team could be amazing but they aren't, goaltending for the leafs is horrible but it isn't the only problem.

As a leaf fan if we could get Lindholm that cheap it would be a no brainer but I think he's costs more especially with 50% retained.

Leafs aren't a great team, we have one amazing line, a good shutdown third line and thats it. Our defense sucks and our goaltending is historically bad. Does that sound like a cup contender even with a stud like Lindholm ?

Not disagreeing, was just responding to your original post. Lindholm is the piece that a contender should add if they feel he completes them.

If a 1st and 2nd is the price for lindholm at 50% then you would assume a lot of teams would pay that.

Especially if he is negotiating an extension with suitors like the rumors say.

I agree with that completely, just don't think with the leafs as they are currently constructed are a contender.

It would probably cost more due to term, but Ducks should look at moving Gibson if Lindholm is moved. Leafs might need him more than Lindholm and Ducks won't be competing the next couple of years at least if Lindholm is gone. Gibby might need a week or two off to mentally and physically recover though. He's getting worn down behind the Ducks "defense" and hasn't looked the same since all star weekend.
