Net front (Reinhart) and entry (Eichel) are two problems they have not solved since blowing up the core of the Murray rebuild plan.

Indeed. Consider they had two of the best in the league at those tasks and now… no.

Also the d-man as flanker conversation. Buffalo trying to make Dahlin-Power work on PP1 is certainly a thing.

Especially since neither Dahlin nor Power is that under-sized super-skilled guy that he was talking about.

Although, they are both + skill guys for their size.

Lindy on wgr this morning. We have to be smarter, and talked about Dahlin in particular. Said he has to teach them and work on it as a team and Dahlin has to work on letting things go. At what point does Lindy figure out that his team isn't and can't be smart ?

Also said the difference of playing in the playoffs comes down to 10 games. And yesterdays game is a prime example.

Hopefully Lindy doesn't scare the sandpaper out of Dahlin. Of course he's right..that isn't the time to be getting loose with the elbow... but I don't want to see this make Dahlin shy away from that physical brand.

I want Dahlin angry and aggressive. It is when he is at his best.

This season he hasn't hit as much as last season, maybe it was due to injury, or maybe he just started playing less physical, I don't know, Lindy talked to him about it. Dahlin needs to play physically and be aggressive and angry, but at the same time try to do it all within the rules, it's quite difficult.

In a typical game I doubt that elbow gets called. Seems like they let that stuff go a lot, especially at the end of games where they really swallow the whistle. As a player I guess you just have to guess where the line is each game based on the vibes the refs are giving.

Cozens says it wasn't their best effort, definitely unacceptable to lose a game like that, says no matter how many games they win in a row, they need to come out with their best effort, says maybe they came in with the mentality that it was going to be easy. #Sabres

cozens comment is an honest brave statement as he climbs back to the person he sees himself as and how the team entered a game that they just had to focus for three hours and take Montreal seriously step on their necks in between being off and enjoying being teenage millionaire idiots for 5 days

it's encouraging if they come out and destroy the Blues and win two in a row after any loss without trying to hard gripping sticks overcompensatiom and or not being in the moment by throwing away the loss and moving on not obsessing good sign Dylan is self aware say fook everyone and just be in the now w a chip against next teams plenty of time

I don't find it brave. Nor do I find any of it encouraging. To be in the league for as long as Cozens has and talk about EFFORT being the problem with this team for the millionth time is so rage inducing.

Talking about effort being the problem should be a 1 warning and you are off the roster rule. And somehow the "core" of this team has been talking effort being an issue for years!

Because they can't say the owner or GM is the problem, the standard answer.

it will depend on what they do now as to which perspective these children or men follow

I truly understand your point of view and agree if we were talking you or myself , not rich entitled jocks contrast Benson who is not like that

the first step of anything ego oriented is acknowledging it publicly and I'm assuming in the dressing room effort and structured details may look strangely similar when guys try to do too much alone

cozens is guilty of lazy entry passes not at all precise upon zone entries repeatedly which causes turnovers goals against as bad as missed shots and Krebs hero fail passes n we'll see right if it's lip service or self awareness

They don't try hard because of Terry Pegula and Kevyn Adams?

I am hugely critical of Adams and Pegula, but come on.....

Knowing everything that we know now, do you think Dylan Cozens is more the brave assistant captain who against all odds is telling the public him that trying hard is the issue.

....or is he a guy who gets punched in the face and turtles for an entire calendar year because he prefers his hockey a little less hard.

That's not the point, I was talking about a global problem. And players will give standard answers in interviews. Cozens won't say that he just doesn't have enough hockey IQ for another game.

the mitts over byram people should look at joki nylamder trade to the seguin trade to understand it from a locker room. to grit to intangibles etc and add in Skinner considering changing the country club culture around the sabres since Adams or when he took over

who won joki trade both players have serious flaws who won turgeon trade I'll take patty heart w a broken skull any day but turgeon had great statistical career

barkov sure changed his game and became accountable where he may not have been etc

mitts is producing a point a game but is Minus 10
byram is a plus 7
Skinner leads the bottom of edm w a Minus 5

we'll see if we can handle forward depth w tage out or we get a no losing more the one in a row ., buffalo bills next man up mentality and win and win the upcoming road trip

no judgements as we aren't in the room and apparently ruff has a tough long term task ahead

we'll all find out more over the next 6

hopefully we get Reimer back so Levi can get on a roll and roc

let's hope Thompson and mule are alright either way I another 3 game win streak w real Hockey and finishing checks and a 7 game point streak that hopefully whoever plays we win and sell out the rink and earn a December trade unless everyone steps up
