Savard got a first a year ago. Lindholm is much much better than Savard
This year a lot of dman going to be traded
Lindholm, Chiarot, Klingberg, Giordano, Manson, Subban, Ristolainen, and another 10
How many 1sts out there ?
Oh a lot of good forwards , probably getting 1sts

As a Leaf fan... that is an abysmal offer.

It probably doesn't even get you Manson @ 50% retained (although I think that would be close)... nevermind Lindholm.
So Lindholm gets a 1st and all other dman get what ? What about the forwards in play ? It’s deep this year

No one said they are all getting firsts. Lindholm is the best all around Dman available. If he gets traded he gets a first. He is better than every other guy you mentioned.

- Lindholm, Klingberg & Chychrun, if traded, will get 1sts; or the prospect-equivalent of one, plus another asset. The fact that it's a deep pool of rentals isn't going to "reduce the single-piece quality" -- it's just going to mean that you're not talking multiple high end pieces.

- Giordano MIGHT get that kind of value, if Lindholm/Klingberg/Chychrun aren't traded (or maybe only one of them) as he becomes the "next best". After that, you've got Manson & Chiarot, who in a normal year might flirt with a 1st round pick type of valuation, but probably not this year.

- Everyone else will fall into line after that.

While yes, the "market" for rentals is dictated by supply & demand, and an oversupply will generally reduce price, teams are still going to be willing to pay for star talent, which Lindholm absolutely is.

only 4 teams that have 1sts that are too playoff teams . So who do you think will give up a 1st +

Lindholm and Chychrun are probably the only all situations top pairing d men available.

If any rental is getting a first in return, it’ll be Lindholm.

I'm as hardcore and biased as a Leafs fan as they come.. but well..

my first thought after reading was "oh, so what would the leafs offer for Lindholm at 50%? & and a few picks?"

Sandin for Lindholm at 50% is probably far more realistic.

Who else will trade a 1st for a rental ?
Supposedly lindholm is willing to talk extension with team trading for him… so the being able to extend him/ give him 8th year opens up lots of options

Seems like you are under rating lindholm, he’ll be best dmen available at deadline if he is available

If Holland is a buyer I raise the Tor offer to Edm 2022 1st + B prospect (Tullio, Lavoie, or Safin) + Kassian + 4th 2023 for 50% retained.

If Lindholm would agree to an extension I'd be ok with the prospect even being Samorukov and the pick upgrading to a 2nd in 2024.

So a signed Lindholm, 2022 1st + 2024 2nd + Samorukov + Kassian.

I think if Lindholm is traded, he'll get 1st + good prospect, i.e. a lot more than the proposed offer. In terms of what TOR could offer, that could be 1st + Knies (Niemela, Robertson also to be considered) maybe an additional late pick for the retention required.

And I think that's definitely a trade TOR should do if offered to them. That makes them immediately much better for this offseason.
