P Luc D is second worse at +/-, just ahead of his rookie linemate who also has a frenchie name. Both are double negative goals on the next closest guy.

For a franchise that loves to put jersey’s in the rafters for progressively weaker moral victories, we should expect to applaud number 80 in the rafters after zero playoff wins before any buyout.

I’m starting to prefer the games where he is invisible and has no impact. The less I have to hear his name and be reminded of that contract, the better.

I’m not giving up on him yet. He is a proven playoff performer. But we got to get in first. They might not make the playoffs
I think at this point it's delusional to think this team is a contender. Best you can get is a team that lucks into a Cup and is one-and-done, but the odds of that happening are astronomical.

A serious question did it not look like he gave up on a few shifts?
I hope he will not be the next player to enter the player assistance program but he looks like he has checked out.

There was also a play where he had the puck in his own end dropped it to the dman and bolted for the bench. It looked strange unless the coach called him off?

I've seriously wondered this as well. Makes me think twice about shitting on him.

Like is there something wrong with him? He deactivated his Instagram the other day then put it on private.

Problem is, he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt because he has a history.

Do anything possible to get rid of him. If there isn't anyone dumb enough to take him without including a first (yes, impossible, but at this point I wouldn't trade our 1sts) then buy him out. Easy buyout over giving up a first and this guy has to go.

I don't believe in the roster anymore. Even with PLD gone, it would take some miracle moves here to get back into contention and I don't believe in our ability to do it. I think the writing is on the wall and we should consider selling high on a lot of the players in the lineup.

Unfortunately, it is an almost impossible situation as there is no way to sell that to Kopi and Dewey, Doughty is the most tradeable and would be the one to go IMO. The fanbase will riot a bit, but it is better than being in middling wannabe hell in the standings for the next couple of years.

Naturally, none of this will happen and the new GM will try to win now and keep PLD, but if we got anyone with cajones that would be my dream.

I just don't think he actually enjoys playing hockey. Its such a privilege, yet he treats every shift as a chore.

Dude needs to brush up on the facts, but the sentiment is right. There are theee years in there with a cap hit in the mid three million range.

If PLD gets Blake fired this summer -- will that make any of us look at PLD any differently? lol ;) PLD playing chess for the anti-Blake GM fans.

I doubt PLD wants his sugar daddy fired because it would lead to a buyout this summer causing PLD to lose ~20 million dollars when compared to a buyout the following year.

PLD getting Blake fired is just what everyone expected when the trade happened. It has already been factored into his reputation.

I think he was just guilty of being lazy

But this offseason is the time to buy him out. A NMC kicks in next season and the buyout gets worse each offseason

Can you imagine having a bad reputation, then an employer puts faith you, invests in you, gives you the biggest paycheck you've ever dreamed of (making you set for life), then you pay that employer back by not-giving-as-shit and putting in a half hearted effort at work? Making the manager who put faith in you look stupid?

Because that's exactly what PLD has done.

It shows a lack of integrity.

I mean, you have to pull the trigger on the buy out, right? You absolutely have to, right? I can't, off the top of my head, think of a worse contract in the history of hockey. Even Yashin was decent for a while. You cannot continue to ice this guy at that kind of money. Am I have a "oh you sweet summer child" moment here thinking this management team would ever admit their mistake? If they won't, doesn't ownership have no choice but to axe them before this buyout window closes and bring in someone who will? Am I just having an existential meltdown because work is slow?
