Big name players have nothing to fear as long as they don’t sandbag half the season, get the coach fired, then switch to a one game per week effort schedule. PLD is a known head case and has been for years.

One extra secondary assist every four games wouldn't make a damn bit of difference here. This was a very expensive gamble with an inexpensive do-over option available ONLY this summer.

Yea once here and there hell make a play and Ill think maybe hes turning a corner. But really the way hes played isnt even worth a league minimum contract. Looks like vanilla 13th forward waiver fodder. If he was just a smidge worse hed be a liability.
He should be ashamed of his play. Most NHL markets would be running him out of town but LA is still handling him with kid gloves.

No need to investigate incompetence. The league let Mike Milbury run a team. They even had to step in on one of his trades, saying it was so bad, that LA had to add more.

Not to mention the Islanders also were able to sign Rick DiPietro to a 15-year contract.

Imagine where Dubois would be without guaranteed contracts.
