Seriously. This is the type of selfish garbage that a dirty player like Sean Avery would've pulled. It was totally unexpected coming from Archibald (who had no history of dirty play) and it taints the rest of his career now.
I doubt 1 dirty play will taint the rest of his career.

McDavid has done dirtier stuff.

McDavid wins Art Rosses though. Crosby chopped off someone's finger, but he wins Hart's too. Archibald is a bottom 6 player who doesn't really have that to be remembered by, so this is what he will be remembered by instead.

Although I will say that despite the regular season trophies, McDavid is at risk of developing a negative playoff reputation. Might already have happened tbh.

Unfortunately due to that collapse, he is already developing that reputation. The mains are gloating. He definately had an extra gear in the regular season and not sure why.

I am so concerned that they couldn't settle down after that PP goal. A lot of that is on the coach (I can't for the life of me figure out why he doesn't call timeouts), but panic set into this team again. They can't deal with the pressure.

I can't get past that Archibald penalty. I'm tired and off to bed in a second, but I can't recall the last time I saw a player blatantly target someone's knees like that. He looked like a Hanson brother the way he skated across the rink and went low.
Archie was quickly becoming a player I really liked. I did enjoy what he did to Stanley, I won't lie, but watching it live and being the reply have changed my opinion, live it looked he was trying to go for a hip check on a guy trying hit to him, on replay it looked like a submarine low hit trying to take out a knee.

so I can't condone that.

Amazing what that chain of events did:

Down 2-1 I think they had a 50-50 chance of still pulling it out.
Now its something like 3% or less.
Only these teams have ever pulled it out of their asses at this point.

Not sure how the team will respond after that devesating loss last night.

This team played well, very well, for months this year and brought a lot of joy to themselves and their fans. Losing tonight and ending their season is not what they deserve. They deserve a better fate and so do their fans.

Has anyone checked to see if Tippett has been told he’s allowed to use timeouts now?

Tippet is absolutely lost, just watched his post game presser from last night and he said BEAR had GREAT game when he was probably the worst guy on the ice everytime

Re watching the third after the vodka is out of my system and wondering why the flip Tippet switched to a 1-3-1 at 4-1 when everybody and their uncle knows the Oilers are crao when they're not pushing the play? What kind of players does he think he has on this team?

Also in OT why was Khaira out there with the jets having the last change, and being crap on the dot all night? And why the heck would you give Devin Shore more 5 on 5 time than Yamamoto and RNH?

2 straight years tippet has been heavily outcoached. Maybe he just isn't a good coach in the playoffs and the Oilers should find his replacement.

Bexause Nuge isnt what he used to be

As I look upon this picture of Nuge Hall and Eberle on my wall, I think that we need to just accept those years were failures for our team and move on. There's some dead weight in front office that vouched for that timeframe that needs to go leech onto the Rangers.

If MacTavish hadnt hired Eakins, that rebuild had eent better, and MacT had find a center for 2nd line instead of Arcobello. But without that, no Draisaitl or McDavid. Rhankbyou Eakins for suck of the millenium

Positive in this is re-signing players will cost less.
RNH looks like a 5 million touch now. Larsson at 3 million. Nurse at 6.5 million.

I would flip Larsson to his left and try him with Bouchard. Sit Kulikov.

I have wanted to try it all season.

Take out Shore and Archibald for Neal/Chiasson or if you want to stay speedy, Kahun/Nygard works too. I just don't want to see Shore-Khaira-Archibald defensively again

In the words of Bill Muny, "Deserve has got nothing to do with it."

The team 100% deserves this fate as do the fans.

Michael Jordan developed a negative playoffs reputation. Lol.

Hopefully we come out with some mental fortitude and bounce back. I know it feels like the apocalypse, but it's still a good day to turn the series around. Like Anna here;

Would be a fitting gdt theme for tonight, lol.

I think I would go 7 D tonight. Turris in for Archi if he’s suspended and Bouch in for Shore.
