English, do you speak it?

when promulgating your esoteric cogitations or articulating your superficial sentimentalities and amicable, philosophical,or psychological observations, beware of platitudinous ponderosity

or you could of said " if they keep promoting BS "

Can we keep both Doughty and Kopi? Thats a lot of money, id rather spend it on a forward and a dman then say Chicago with both or there forwards in the 10s. But can we compete with both making that money, If it comes down to one, which do you keep. I would want to keep Doughty always keep the D.

Of course you keep Dewey, not only is the premium placed on the defenseman, but at the start of of 19-20 season Dewey will be 29 and Kopi will be 32 ($41M remaining over 5 years on his deal).

Doesn't make sense to trade Doughty and not Kopitar as well since at that point your doing a full rebuild.

If you can trade Kopitar. He has an NTC and a contract most teams would not want.

I wouldn't Kopitar has been a stud his entire career expect last year. I think he deserves the chance to show it was a fluke year.

Kopitar is human. He has 3 good years left in him at most, and more likely will only improve moderately next season.

Back to the topic. I wonder what Drew Doughty is doing this summer to improve his game.

I don't think there's a single team that would take Kopitar and his contract.

Not in this CAP era, can't see a GM taking on 30 yr old center at 10M for 7 more years. He's got 2 maybe 3 more where he should produce in the 65 pt range.

Lombardi made his bed and the Kings now have to sleep in it.

Really hard to predict how he'll perform in a few years. Some guys just seem to keep going into their mid thirties. Hopefully big bodied kopi will age well

I get why some of you say this (wishful thinking), but it's really not true. The odds are he will not produce at a rate one expects from a 1C, maybe as soon as now.

I get why some of you say this (negative nancy's) but some guys do produce well into their mid thirties.

Instead of all the " i told you so's " re contracts etc, cant you let people just enjoy the team we have. Its like a depression meeting for slit your wrists anonomous on this board sometimes. Every ****ing thread turns into a negative nancy moanathon.

Problem is the statistics don't back up your statement. The game is getting faster. I am not going to re-post the information regarding how a forward's production declines after they hit their late 20's and into their 30's. It's been provided many times.

It's rare for a player to maintain his rate of production well into his 30's and Kopitar isn't showing signs that he will be one of those guys.

If you enjoy mediocrity and one playoff win over the last 3 years, it's your prerogative, but I don't. Honestly, I think some of you get upset when one of your favorite players receives criticism, and the people who have been critical are proven correct.

I like Anze Kopitar, but his last contract should have been for no more than 5 years, and for a more reasonable cap hit. If he didn't want to sign a deal like that, then trade him.
