Definitely buying Montreal, Toronto or Ottawa trading for Clowe to try add something to close the gap between bruins/pens and the rest of the East and match the physicality added.

No wonder Boston fans are so cocky when it comes to trades. Chiarelli just makes out like a bandit over Toronto and Calgary.

Chiarelli gets lucky quite frequently.

The rumor going around is that since Iginla had a NTC, the market was limited. Calgary wasn't going to trade Iginla to a team in the west, so that left Pitts and Boston as the two competitors, and Pittsburgh might have lost interest after acquiring morrow.

See what I'm worried about now is that the big suitors for Clowe have already got their power forwards

Yes he had a list of teams, but when you're CGY, you're not looking at conference since this is the beginning of your rebuild. Iginla won't haunt them 4-5 years down the road. Rumor was that LA dropped out earlier this evening leaving BOS alone in pursuit which is why the first is probably conditional

Montreal?

Wasn't there a report that Montreal and Vancouver didn't wanna give a 1st for Clowe? Unless there's other teams to drive up the price, Montreal might not budge on that. Of course, DW will just keep Clowe then since he doesn't have to trade him unless he gets a good deal. So, it depends on how many suitors there are for Clowe and whether there's a team desperate enough to give DW what he wants.

Sure they don't want to, but now that Iginla has been moved someone might throw a 1st at us for Clowe.

Jarome Iginla traded to PIT for PIT's 1st rounder in 2013 and college prospects Kenneth Agostino (Yale) and Ben Hanowski (St. Cloud State).

Oh jeez.
