I would laugh (in a good way) if tomorrow we hear about Bartkowski, Khoklachev and a conditional first-round pick (the reported haul for Iginla to Boston) now going to SJ for Clowe.

What a turn of events with Iginla...wow. Also, with 4 points in 3 days vs. the Ducks, and you have to wonder if DW is going to change his mind from being a seller to a buyer...or maybe since the price has driven up for a player like Clowe he stays the course. Going to be very interesting to see the domino effect throughout the league due to PIT's trades over the last week, and hopefully it benefits us.

Iginla had a NMC though so the value wouldn't have been an equal return. I don't think the trade was that bad for Calgary considering they got a 1st.

It's nice to get a 1st, but this just goes to show that Calgary waited way too long to deal Iginla. The return is pretty pathetic.

Honestly, if you trade Clowe and move Sheppard up to Clowe's spot, the line will likely stay just as effective. The 4th line might suck more though since Burish or Handzus would get dressed and subsequently undressed by the other team. Maybe package Burish and a basement pick for a 4th liner than can actually do something?

I really do hope DW trades Clowe for a decent return because he's almost certainly not going to be re-signed next year with the new cap.

Jarome Iginla traded to PIT for PIT's 1st rounder in 2013 and college prospects Kenneth Agostino (Yale) and Ben Hanowski (St. Cloud State).

Oh jeez.

If you just take Boston, and they call DW and offer Koko + 1st (or conditional 1st), somehow I think no matter what DW pulls the trigger. My gut just says that DW won't resign Clowe no matter what (Cap space for no other reason, although other reasons are there to walk away and doesn't see Clowe as integral to a Cup Run this year, even if we can talk Cup Run with this squad. But more importantly, I think he wants a mini-rebuild ("retooling") and moving Clowe and getting back a touted prospect and a 1st round pick is a no-brainer

No way two wins turns DW from an adamant "no picks or prospects or youth will be traded for rentals" to a buyer.

Iginla chose the Pens over the Bruins..Feaster said it himself. Wow and Bruins fans were crowing  Clowe still won't be traded if the team keeps playing well unless the deal makes sense.

I absolutely agree on all points, and also hope for a similar trade with BOS, or another Eastern Team. Can't wait to see the moves all teams make between now and the 3rd.

DW has a whole week to get a bidding war going. Again, thank you Shero for taking Morrow and Iginla off the table.

I certainly hope not, I still want DW to stay the course on what was earlier posted above as a "mini-retooling". I don't know what got into these guys the last 2 games, but that certainly isn't the same Sharks I've been watching...and I hope those last 2 games, or what could happen in the next 3 games, doesn't make DW stray from whatever plan he has.

Feaster traded Iginla for two dudes from Yale and St. Cloud State. Their 2012 first round pick goes to Providence. Basically 3 of the worst college hockey programs to go looking for NHL players.

Going back to what was reported with BOS and CGY, Bartkowski, Koko and conditional first for Iginla until Iggy decided to stiff Boston.

If DW could get that for Clowe I think we should all do cartwheels. An extra pick is (very) nice, Koko is flipping fantastic to add to the org, and Bartkowski actually would add even more depth to the blue line now, I think he'd slot in as our #7 dman.

I'm gonna go to bed now hoping DW is trying to pull that off. :naughty:

so if we see what we seen in the 1st 7 games, and these past 3 games (which by the way was complete games), which is what it takes to win in the playoffs. you would rather a rebuild, instead of taking that chance on winning the cup?

i want this team to make the playoffs at all costs, because once those playoffs start nobody knows what will happen. the sharks could end up facing anaheim, vancouver, kings, and poof the 3 best match ups for the sharks just happened and we made the cup finals.

I think the past 2 games impressed me more than the first 7 games. If we are to add, I'd like to add smartly by trading guys like Clowe (but can't imagine much of a return that benefits us this year, vs. future years). I could see Boyle potentially being moved, but I'd hate to lose him right now. So other than trading Clowe...I'd like to stand pat, and see how this current team does in the playoffs.

I'd love to trade Burish & Handsuz for anything...anything...just to get them off the roster.
