I like that, I could see him hitting 70 points if he plays with those guys and gets first PP unit.

I like that line but if we’re really making a push we need Giroux on that line with Jimmy, or we basically eliminate Stützle’s line completely from defensive zone face offs (which is fine) but Giroux is a low key nasty player the same way Drake would be.

Stützle plays centre ice, Giroux takes the load of the draws. I think that’s the thinking behind stapling Giroux to Jimmy’s wing.

Moving Norris to wing as trigger man and running Giroux centre on that line is cool too, but it’s nice we finally have options. I hope DJ doesn’t take the blender out too often this year though.

Tkachuk - Giroux - Norris falls short on play driving imo though, and I think that’s why it’s best for Batherson to be on a line with Tkachuk/Norris. The more touches Batherson gets the better. Tkachuk Norris Batherson is our dollar store version of perfection lines.

I think he should be on the 2nd unit, being the Brady of that unit. Parking infront of the net, getting in the goalies way, getting the dirty rebounds.

Offensively, yes. Defensively, I think T/N/G are more responsible. I would want the more responsible team facing against other teams top line.

Tkachuk - Norris - Giroux
DeBrincat - Stützle - Batherson

I'd prefer to swap Giroux and Batherson to have a bigger presence (Tkachuk on 1, Batherson on 2) on each line.

Although I think they probably want Giroux with Stützle for faceoffs.

DeBrincat is gonna change entire dynamics of our top 6. Guys like Stutzle, Giroux and Batherson salivating like crazy.

I think he should be on the 2nd unit, being the Brady of that unit. Parking infront of the net, getting in the goalies way, getting the dirty rebounds.

Giroux should be stapled to Stü to help on faceoffs. Out of the players on our roster last season, Batherson is the most creative passer. I would not take him off the first unit. Our only play beyond Chabot passing to Norris for a one timer was Stü creeping in from his wall, then passing it to Bath who had the ability to hit every other person on the ice from the goal line.

Unless Batherson is off the roster, he should be on our top PP unit. He also really stirs the drink on our new second line/old first line and should really play with them. He's better than Giroux at this point in their careers and that unit needs a line driver.

Edit: also that line you suggested would very extremely EASILY be our best line. No ifs, ands, or buts.

This is ignoring the chemistry that norris Brady and batherson have. They clearly click and elevate eachother. The other three might not

I think it's just a camera angle thing combined with Batherson tilting his head a bit, their shoulders seem at about the same level.
