He totally should be in consideration for the team, I doubt Canada files a petition for him though. If only he was American...

Dude is insanely consistent, legitimately a great player already.

(min 15 games)

Crosby is the only one from the Nova Scotia gang missing from the top 10

It's looking pretty easy right now isn't it?

That top line decided after the ancouver game to play 200ft, and now they are seeing the rewards

Let's be real about the Drake Batherson contract talks.

He signed that contract knowing he put in the work. Guy knew he was going to be LIGHTS OUT coming into this season.

He also has the charisma that'll extend well into endorsement deals.

Have not seen him play any centre, or take any draws. Play driving right winger seems like his spot, and I don't see that changing.

Played C a bit in junior. You can see it in the way he sees the ice so well. He's developing like Benn who's a winger but plays and helps the middle of ice a lot. Bodes well for us because it will compensate from Norris' lack of creativity at C and Tkachuk seems to be that way too. We must just have all the recipe for a powerful top line.

I think he is American, or at least a dual citizen.

Yeah Norris is a good passer but he is not a playmaker, he won't create these goals consistently like a young Spezza did. But he is so hungry to score, it's refreshing

Thing is these 3 guys might even be better than I thought. I have been very high on Bath for 4 years so I have been pumping him a lot but I thought he had 65-70 pts upside... it looks like it could be even more. I have been on Norris for a while too (never bet against top athletes) but he might have even more goal scoring potential than I thought. I have never pumped Tkachuk much as we know he was going to be good but he might also be better than I thought

That line is so fun to watch, particularly if there's Chabot/Zub on D

Yes born in the States. We think of him as a Canadian but he's dual

that's a funny line:
Best at draws is a winger - Tkachuk
Best playmaker, another winger - Batherson
Best shooter, the centre - Norris

Add their physicality

Bonus question: who was the fastest last year and this year?

How does this list make any sense?.... What about Devon Toews? Him either? Why do they have to stick to this list?.....

Born in the USA to a Canadian father grew up in Canada. He lead Canada in goals at the WJC on route to gold. He is Canadian

Just looked it up (to confirm my hunch), and his Dad (Norm) was playing hockey in Fort Wayne (USA) in '98, the year Drake was born there.
Norm was born in N.S. (which I knew).

Bath is def Canadian despite being born on Ft Wayne. Grew up between Antigonish and Annapolis Valley mostly. Minor hockey for Antogonish and Acadia. Played for the Valley Wildcats before going to Cape Breton Eagles (which is where his dad grew up). Still lives in the Annapolis Valley in offseason and refers to it as "home". Dual citizen, but Canadian

I just need to admit that I definitely underestimated Batherson's potential. I thought he was going to be all flash but no substance and top out as a 2nd/3rd line type who gets hot and cold throughout the season and leaves people wanting more.

I would have to find where I ranked him in @Xspyrit thread poll of under 25 players, but it was definitely not as high as others.

The makeup of the line is so good.

We have Tkachuk who drives the net and fills his lane...shit, a lane and a half, and can score from in close with great hands, tips and a sneaky release. He also has really nice vision in the tight areas where he doesn't just try to slap the puck past the goalie on rebounds. Obviously brings some physicality.

Then you have Norris who has a world class shot, excellent agility and a knack for finding the open spots. Good puck carrier through the neutral zone and learning but willing defensively.

Finally you have Batherson who has all the skill in the world. Silky mitts, great vision, fantastic hockey smarts and a hell of a wrist shot. He can distribute or score depending on what's needed. Skating has improved, he can carry the puck better now and he knows when to lower his shoulder and use his size.

All of them are decent at winning puck battles and are all improving in that category.

They seem like a perfect fit right now.

Was it a subtle way to ask for the link? :sarcasm:

Prospect Info: - Under 25 y/o Sens Players 2021 Ranking : #19

IIRC, I was thinking Stutzle, Chabot, Sanderson, Pinto, Batherson, Norris, Tkachuk at that moment

Last year I would say Norris, this year it's between Norris and Batherson.

Thanks, however I think my post in this thread (about 5 posts in) pretty much sums up my thoughts earlier in the year and to be honest they still have not changed much.

Prospect Info: - Under 25 y/o Sens Players 2021 Ranking : #3

I did not have Batherson in my top 5, which says alot about how amazing our core is.

Good for Drake, happy for the guy. Can’t wait to watch him if the ASG festivities commence.
