I would go insane of we actually won.

I'm happy with our spot, but it's 2 percent to win. Where would McDavid fit onto our team?

Any ****ing place he wants.

No. 97, you want it? You got it.

Want a gold-colored jersey when everyone else wears black? You got it.

etc.

And I would move Nolan up to the third line permanently. This kid turned a corner in the second half of this season and I expect his career to continue to advance.

I'm actually pretty happy with 13th (now that we're eliminated). Here's one crazy coincidence I just thought of - in 2003 the Kings drafted Dustin Brown with the 13th overall pick.

I'm fairly certain the league would just fold if we got McDavid. Can't have the next chosen one be a career 70 point 2 way almost Selke winner.

We need to complete the trifecta of the Mc's on our team with McNabb and McBain.

But seriously, I would buy a #97 McDavid jersey if we somehow ended up winning the lottery.

Tank for the 2%!

Kings trail the Bruins by 2 points. Each team with one game remaining. Both are tied with 37 ROW.

Hey, that doubles our chances!

If we could somehow slide into the top 10 I'd be a happy camper (I'll be honest im not sure how the lottery works outside of the top 3 picks)

In 2015, the only thing that changed is the odds of winning the first overall pick. So if Buffalo has the worst record in the league, the lowest they could pick is second overall.

However, in 2016, there will be three drawings to select first, second, and third overall. This means that technically, the team with the fewest points during the regular season could pick fourth.

Unless we win the draft lottery, we will have the 13th or 14th overall pick. Dallas is 3 points behind us with one game left, so we cannot get the 12th overall pick. If we win against San Jose and Boston loses in regulation, we will pick 14th overall. Otherwise, we will pick 13th overall.

It doesn't work that way this season. Currently, we have a 2% chance of landing the overall top pick. If we don't win the lottery, we slide down to 13th or 14th.

We will probably end up with the 13th overall pick. The Kings have played so poorly this week we will probably lose on Saturday. That secures 13th place for sure; we can't catch Dallas at 12th. If Boston loses and we win in regulation, we could slide down to 14th.

It's either 1st, or 13th, or 14th.

Guys, don't put all of your hopes on McDavid. Just focus on the #13/#14 spot so you don't get disappointed again. We've had enough disappointment this season and we'll have more of it when Lombardi resigns Stoll for two more years, lol.

Bettman needs to rig this **** for us to make up for the whole Voynov situation and to avoid rewarding tanking. Get it done, Gary! :)

Anyone foolish enough to put their hopes in a two per cent chance of winning a lottery gets the disappointment they deserve. It's a small reward for having a dismal season, nothing more. If we get lucky and get McDavid its a huge bonus, nothing more and certainly nothing to pin our hopes to.

My concern isn't this draft but next draft. Since this pick was lottery protected, Carolina gets our 2016 1st automatically. We know changes are coming and on here at least there is a push to get quicker and not resign vets like Williams, Stoll, etc. Not resigning vets, especially when we may not have a ton of cap room to sign guys in UFA, often means going younger, which often means a greater risk of more loses. Meaning there's a very real chance that 1st next year could be a lottery pick as well, and potentially better odds with it than this one.

And don't say this team will make the playoffs next year. If they can miss 10 months after winning the Stanley Cup then next years playoffs are anything but a guarantee.

Think of that for a moment.

And then think of all the people playing the California lottery at ridiculous odds...171 million to 1, as I recall.
