I would not trade Jones for RNH. With that said, Edmonton has got to move a guy or two and try and get a top defenseman. Stockpiling offensive players is nice and saying "offense wins hockey games" is cute and all, but they got some pieces to build around and even more to move to acquire those in the places they are weak. With that said, none of this matters unless they get someone in there to coach an NHL system. They can have all the young scorers in the world, but if they continue to be braindead and out of position in the defensive end, they will go nowhere

The guys they should be trading are Draisaitl and Purcell, maybe Pouliot.
 
Nuge is a better skater, defensively sound and has a huge offensive potential. He's similar to Kopitar in the sense that he makes those around him into better players.

Draisaitl is probably a better playmaker but a bit slow of a skater and pretty inconsistent, prone to slumps.

Personally i'd like RNH

I first thought Martin Jones for RNH and was about to make a 'WTF' comment on that. Then clicked last page and pieced it all together.

Wonder if something like Jones+Martinez (or Muzzin?)+1st for RNH would be a starting point.

Would need to add and even then he has no place on the Kings.

Well, they could go after Sekera, if the Kings do not sign him. (not that Sekera would want to go there, who knows) They also have Darnell Nurse stepping in this coming season. Klefbom has some promise. They could improve the back end pretty quickly, with a signing and deal or 2. Heck, they could even sign Gravel. He's probably better than the Oilers 5-6 defensemen.

It just made me sick with that moron deputy commish "we have a winner!" statement and seeing that gold Oilers card. Just sick. Even though a Sharks gold card or a Coyotes gold card would have been infinitely worse...just feel sick that the Oilers are going to do everything in their power to ruin another young promising career.
