There's NO WAY sharks offered 9th for talbot straight up so anyone thinking that just stop now, no shot was it talbot Klein and hags for a 1st either. Wouldn't be shocked if it talbot and one of those for a first but I still doubt it was 9th

Is it possible that instead of Sather overplaying his hand teams just haven't offered fair value for Talbot?

Elliot Friedman pretty much told everybody the market for Talbot. Nobody wanted to believe it.

Perhaps the Rangers are going to hang onto Talbot and trade him during the season next year.

You can't talk about fair market value, and then think it would be a good idea to trade Talbot during the season. Fair market value for Talbot will be FAR lower during the season. How does that make a lick of sense for the Rangers?

Really the only hope, assuming they don't trade him tomorrow, is to package Talbot in a deal before the season starts and just pick with what we have now.

I doubt he overplayed his hand so much as he just isn't seeing what he sees as being worth it. As I said for weeks, the Rangers best deal might be no deal at all.

He passed on the 2 2nds from buffalo so they went another direction, that could be the best offer and now the other teams aren't fighting for him now. Might turn into one 2nd rounder now

Do you have a source on that?

Buffalo wound up trading for a goalie from the team run by Murray's uncle by the way.

“@rangersreport: Still think Talbot's going to EDM for #16 pick. Not sure if there will be more to the deal.”

How is hte best deal no deal at all? I don't understand the logic of this thinking at all. How does not trading Talbot benefit us at all? Do you honestly think those handful of extra wins by having Talbot as supposed to some veteran backup is worth a 2nd round pick? It's this kind of logic as to why we haven't won anything in over 20 years. Part of being a competent organization is trading unnecessary pieces when they have value. Keeping him is incredibly short-sighted and foolish.

I couldn't agree more. There's no need to rush a trade of a guy that's so good. If Hank gets injured, then what?

Rangers best hope here is that Boston takes the next 3 guys off the top of Edmonton's board.

The brass isn't really doing much. I am looking at Clark Gorton Sather. Honestly looks like they're twiddling their thumbs. It probably means nothing but there's no action going on.

Haha I see the cigar.
