Watching Interviews from the combine:

Gotta get Zegras ! Not only a talented kid, but funny and very personable. "the wingate was definitely something special.....I actually asked the guys to get in my ear and yell at me a little bit to keep me going...."

Spencer Knight just had to bring up Lundqvists name, his idol.

Marshall Warren, another really good NY kid, "Ugh, having to go over the GWB(to play NJU16) was a hassle, but it was worth it"

New York Jr. Rangers at eliteprospects.com

It's pretty wild that Zegras, Knight, and Kaliyev played together on a Rangers youth team 6 years ago and now they're all going to be first rounders in the draft. Domenick Fensore and Cooper Moore were on that team as well.

keep running that draft simulator...every time hughes was the top pick. but the rest of the top round seems so random with who is available at #20. just ran one and bryam and zegras were both still on the board at #20. then the next 1 those 2 went 6 & 7.

Whatever sim you guys are running seems pretty inaccurate and pointless.

oh it is so complete in accurate and the rankings they are using are either outdated or just awful. but i'm board...

its completely pointless in the first round...in the later rounds though it has helped me know a little bit about some picks though as I keep looking up info on the guys left on the board. but yeah its a waste of time lol

Measurements are updated once a year in most leagues. Players grow and develop in a year. If those "surprise stat players" are measured by their league in August, it would show the same results as the combine this week.

Which is basically my point. How much do measurements mean for 17 or 18 year olds?

For the smaller players it still really matters. Caufield coming in at 5'7 and not 5'6 doesn't sound like a lot, but it could mean the difference between him potentially getting to 5'10 when he is fully grown. We've seen the reports of players growing 2 inches in their d+1 season.

It's another sport but Paul George was 6'7 at the draft and was the 10th pick. He grew to 6'10 a year later. I'm all but sure if he was 6'10 at his draft date, he'd have gone MUCH higher.

For the teams drafting, it's not a huge deal. It's more important for the players and their future.

I think @Ola nailed it when he said that he doesn't fit the Ranger profile.

Tomasino is someone who does. My gut feel is if they don't move up and someone doesn't inexplicably drop to them, he's their guy.
That #20 pick feels so much more interesting to me than the 2 late 1sts they had last year, but this just might be because we’re in the thick of it right now

This is my point. They still grow so much in the following years. Their measurements are common knowledge. Eliteprospects even has it on their individual page. There's no reason (to me at least) to make such a big deal about measurements for kids who are 17 or 18 and don't see why they can't just merge this with the draft. Make it a week-long event. Not these European kids have to travel to Buffalo, then back to Europe, then Vancouver, then back again in the span of 3 weeks

I think it is because it's higher.

These next 20 days are going to be excruciating. I expect we'll see a good amount of movement from the Rangers, both in terms of the draft and otherwise.

i think you are making a bigger deal about how its not a big deal than anyone cared in the first place :D

He is a high school player who is playing against kids. Not Juniors, kids!

The level he plays at and his offensive game is very meh for a draft pick. He does not stand out in any way.

The only thing he has is his speed and height. He is even very light for his height.

Im just not a fan that is all and think there are players who are much better for us to draft.

Kreider, Stepan & Nieves were some rangers drafted out of high school. Technically speaking Morgan Barron was drafted out of high school too. I’m not worried....

Who were the prospects interviewed in the latest video that I missed?

I caught York and I think Cozens. Use your freakish powers to unlock the rest of the mystery.

Ryder Donovan has committed to Wisconsin (NCAA Div 1). I don't know much about him, but that is a good sign. Not every player who is playing HS hockey is bad. Especially with picks in the later rounds you see more HS kids being drafted. It's not some huge red flag

If he is available for the TBL pick, I would love to grab him

This kid could be a generational instigator with that creepy stare. Really take opponents off their game.

Imagine lining up across from him on a face off and he just casually says “You keep the top drawer of your dresser locked. What are you hiding from me.........?”
