I would be surprised if we picked Dach, very surprised. I don’t know how he is off ice, but I don’t think our crew would go for someone that moves like him.

Personally, I don't find his skating to be a concern.

I just feel like we're reaching that point of the year, right before the draft, where guys seem to rise and fall on a weekly basis on here.

They passed on Vilardi who is an identical player, except Vilardi played wing his draft year because of Logan Brown. I think if they go WHL its Krebs or Byram but VP is BPA at 9.
yeah, that scenario is worst case IMO. picking 9 with all those players taken in front of us.

Thankfully, or at least I believe, we'll be picking 6-7.

I honestly dont know much about Pod or Doro but the board leads me to believe that Doro is the better Russian.

Seeing Clark as part of the group that went to see Cozens and Dach this week makes think at least one of them is on the Rangers’ radar.

Personally, I think the Rangers want Kakko more tgan Hughes or anyone else. Fits their mold — adult-age experience, size, maturity.

It would take a mountain to get him. I’ve finally accepted the gap between Kakko and Podkolzin.

Would have no issues if they traded another 1st and the Dallas 2nd to move from 8 or 9 to 2. If that’s what it’ll cost.

That’s why Gorton accumulating as many assets as he has should pay dividends. If TB wins the Cup, I’d have no problem giving up what you suggested.

At the very least we know we have 2 firsts and 3 seconds.

I’ve long believed the Rangers would prefer to select higher and less often, than lower and with greater frequency.

Can you imagine the ire of some on here if we took an 18 year old with a bad back? He's still hurt.

I heard a lot of red flags associated with him leading up to the draft that year. I’m skeptical that because the Rangers passed up Vilardi, they’ll likely pass up Dach. Add in that Gorton upgraded the WHL scouting and I almost feel like the will go WHL this year....unless they go USNTP.

Trading up for Kakko? That's a scenario where packaging Kreider could make sense... but I'd exhaust every option prior

I think that top 10 is entirely plausible, especially with Boldy going higher than most people on our board are talking about. Though if you were to hold me to one change, I think Dach and Krebs are more likely to be flip-flopped.

Dart throwing, TBH. The WHLers are giving me the most problems. At least with the NTDP kids, you have three different players — a finesse playmaker, a power winger and a two-way center. Aside from Dach's skating, all three are very similar.

I think it's a bit shortsighted to think they beefed up their WHL scouting because of the first round this season. They've had a stretch recently where their drafting out of the WHL was abysmal, and our scouts opted for bad picks. The WHL is the best of the CHL crop this season, and there will be good opportunities to nab some solid prospects in the middle of the draft.

I'm sticking to my gut that they're going with a Euro or US kid until the Rangers show me otherwise.

I want Hughes, Dach or the defenseman with the first first but if we could trade up for Caufield or Kaliyev in the mid first with some of our ammo it would make my day.

I’ve got some favorites for this draft, but I’m going to try to keep a very open mind for what the Rangers will do with their picks. I probably will have a short list of “please don’t touch” though

It takes two to tango and this is much easier said than done. The Rangers could certainly put up a fair offer, but I find it very unlikely a team would sacrifice Hughes or Kakko to go down that many spots.

This happened the yeah they traded Stepan, and tried to go up again. No one wanted to go down.

Rental Kreider is not making the difference move up for Kakko. I dont think there is any precedent for such a move.

At what point are we worried about the fact that Podkolzin isn't producing at a high level in MHL/VHL when both teams are the best teams in the Leagues?

Hint: I'm already very concerned about it.
