If Egor comes in and plays well does he make Trenin a trade possibility at the deadline? He is likely a bottom 6 guy with 3rd line upside.

What do the Ads lines look like these days? For the stretch run I'd be up for something like...

L'Heureux - Parssinen - Tomasino
Afanaseyev - Svechkov - Evangelista
Schaefer - Foudy - Kemmel
Angello - O'Reilly - Weatherby

Del Gaizo - Livingstone
Stastney - McKeown
Gravel - Gross

Askarov

Sure, but he should be. If that's the way we're doing things now. He's still waiver exempt. So is Afanaseyev. They deserve to be parachuted to safety as much as Parssinen and Tomasino did. (Afanaseyev has earned his opportunity to get a few extra weeks of NHL pay meanwhile, but eventually he needs to come back for the Milwaukee playoff run too).

I don't see how they don't roll 7 d-men like they have the entire winning streak. Taylor says he likes it as it allows his defensemen to stay fresher.

I think that's a better benefit than having Angello out there to take a couple bad penalties in his 8 minutes of skating.

Angello has been injured. Carson Gicewicz just came back after being in Florida for a week. Kemell usually plays on Svechkov's line.

The Ads host Chicago for the 5th and last game of a homestand before going on a road trip to Manitoba.

The starters are Askarov, Stastney and Wilsby. Schaefer, O'Reilly and Kemell up front.

Kemell was just playing on Svechkov's line with L'Heureux. Now Weatherby is centering Wall and Felhaber. Now O'Reilly centering Schaefer and L'Heureux. Now Parsinen centering Tomasino and Foudy. Whatever Taylor is doing is working, because the SOG are 7-1 Admirals, six minutes into the game.

With 8:36 remaining, Marino gets 2 for Roughing L'Heureux. Marino came across the ice and tried to elbow L'Heureux. A few seconds later, L'Heureux checked Marino, who punched L'Heureux in the head. Foudy called for Interference. Now a phantom goal by the Wolves. I never saw the puck go in, even on the replay. L'Heureux for Tripping. The most ticky-tack that I have ever seen. L'Heureux comes out of the box and immediately steals the puck! Chicago commits an intentional offside and it is called Offside. What are these 4 guys doing? Svechkov (13) scores with 0.2 seconds remaining. The score is tied at 1, the SOG are 19-7 Ads!

I spoke to Aaron Sims about the Chicago goal. He never saw it go in, but he thinks it hit the support post and came out immediately. In addition, because Chicago still had a guy in the box, it was a 4-on-4, so no release on a score.

Comtois was cross-checking Parsnip after the whistle. I saw four, my daughter says it was ten times. Comtois got a major for Spearing and a Gamer. After the PP, the Ads finally score to make it 2-1. L'Heureux (12) with assists to Felhaber (7) and Wilsby (6). With 3:40 remaining, McKeown (6) scores with assists to Schaefer (9) and Del Gaizo (19). Ads 3-1. The SOG were 14-3 Admirals.

Kemell has been close to scoring twice in period 3. Del Gaizo and Parsnip have also been close. Scheel just had one fly at his goal off a stanchion. He is getting bombed tonight! Expect 40 plus saves. The Ads came down the ice like it was practice and Weatherby scored, with assists to Felhaber and Wall. Marino won't let go of Gravel's stick, which started a little fight. Both 5 for fighting. The Ads forwards want to keep scoring, they are seeing $,$,$. Chicago scores with 5:36 remaining to make it 4-2 Ads.

Askarov complaining to ref Jared Cummings that he is being jostled in the crease by Wolves. That may have resulted from their second goal. Asky had a crowd around him. Felhaber just missed an ENG.Two minutes remaining. Schaefer (4) with an ENG, with 1:07 remaining. The assists to L'Heureux (18) and McKeown (12). It is a 5-2 Ads win!

Fifteen wins in a row in front of 4237 boisterous fans!

While Angello is injured, does he really help the team much?

A shame that it was a 6:30 start and also on a Bucks night. I didn't even try to come up since I'd arrive after 6 PM and likely street parking would be gone combined with parking garages charging $35-50 for Bucks games.

How long is bruno's contract? Maybe when the core of Milwaukee is ready to graduate Taylor will just move with them
It had been rumored to be 4 years... but I can't find any confirmation of that. The Preds have been tighter with coach contract info than some teams are.

And I don't think Trotz is going to move on from Brunette easily. In this "retool" scenario, there aren't firm performance expectations, so coming up with a reason to fire the coach is going to be nearly impossible, right? Because even if the team crashes and misses the playoffs for something like all 4 years... well... that had to be at least partly expected?

So... Taylor is probably a goner, alas. The time to promote him would have been last summer, instead of hiring Brunette. But with Milwaukee rolling again, those inquiries he was getting from other teams are going to turn into firm offers. I just don't know what the path is going to be for him to get a job with the Preds next year... would he accept an "associate coach" moniker? Some other team could just hire him straight to head coach, more likely. I suspect that ship is all prepped to sail away. :(

Giving someone who has never been a head coach for more thab a minute a 4 year contract would be dumb unless there is some sort of out clause.

Brunette was on the shortlist for other teams last off-season, the Preds may not have had much choice but to match the term other teams seem to routinely hand out. :(

Anyway, coach contracts always have an out clause... you can fire them. Although you have to keep paying them. But that kind of money isn't very significant relative to player payrolls, so teams don't usually lose much sleep over exercising that "out clause" if it becomes truly necessary.

I just think from all the United Front chats and everything we saw from Trotz and Brunette heading into the season, they are going to continue to be joined at the hip for quite a while. It will take something truly extraordinary for Brunette's job to fall into jeopardy in the next few years.
