Traded for "on the ice play" reasons. (Not cap, unwillingness to re-sign with team, etc.)
I still call the Korolyuk trade one. Essentially cap hit (on the Sharks) for a 1st round pick.
And the Ehrhoff one.

Which trade has SJ made that isn't a hockey trade?
Well, let's be a little more specific. If you mean which trade did not involve hockey for the Sharks, that would be when we traded for Nic Wallin. There was no hockey to be had there.
Rangers fans are my least favorite of all. Excluding Rangershark, of course.
Seems like Rangers and TO fans are the most hostile, always have problems in those threads.
Bums me out a bit, big fan of Murray. That being said, we got a steal for him so i'm not too sad about it.
why trade burish? you are only really freeing up 800-900 k in Cap, and losing someone who is actually really good on the PK. Ive seen him block more shots than anyone besides murray I think.
which line gomez is on is the one that leaks goals imo.
we dont really have a 4th line center in the pipes to fill in, but i guess we could roll with.
galiardi-desi-sheppard..
Craig Button say the Pens are the clear winner in this trade. He said that Murray knows how to play against the other team's best players and compared this deal to the one in 1991 in which the Pens got Ulf Samuelsson.
This just confirms East coast bias. These analysts just don't watch WC games especially ones on the West coast. Just spouting off things that were true years ago.

Handzus blocks shots too. Want to keep him around? I don't see a trade happening with Burish because who would want him at that salary for 4th line work? The PK will be fine with or without him. If they find someone to take him for anything, they ought to do it. Same applies to Gomez and Handzus.

Don't think this was posted anywhere but its basically Dan Rusanowsky talking about the trade and Doug Wilson talking about why he made the trade and all. Glad to hear he doesn't plan on giving up any of our early picks to try and make a big push for the playoffs but also said this trade doesn't mean that they're going to be big sellers and rebuild he says they want to "refresh". At 6:58 he pretty much calls out Clowe without mentioning his name saying that he's not playing his best. Gotta think he plans on trading Clowe and as much as I like him I hope he does.[...]
well gomez is at 700k, which is fine-especially considering that he is the points leader among the bottom six. I would definitely keep him around. but as a winger.
RE: Burish- Yes he is overpaid, he also has stone hands, but where does the re-allocation of funds go? that 800k could maybe get an ELC for someone I guess. With murray off the books, there is quite a bit of capspace atm. more than enough for a 3rd line UFA acquisition, if we go that route.
I dont know...im not arguing to keep him really...just doesnt do anything other than set a bad organizational tone. because he is far from a detriment in 4th line minutes, and having 4th liners who can PK is always nice, especially if he takes over handguns shifts and really gives the top guys a break.
Rangers fans told me Boyle is old and cant skate anymore. Clearly they know something we don't.
Boyle for a conditional 7th.
When was the last time you watched a Hawks game? Keith and Seabrook are struggling mightily, they aren't even playing shutdown minutes. Leddy can't play defense. Their best defenseman is Johnny Oduya. Hjalmarsson is Vlasic-lite. They succeed because they have a system that maximizes defense while simultaneously not suppressing offense.
You're way off base with almost everything you're saying.
The conclusion is actually that they need to rework the system to give them better options. In what world is it good to have everyone be around the puck as you're moving it up the ice?
