Thank you. It was one of the greatest thrills of my life, that and being in the Winners Circle of the 1983 Kentucky Derby when Sunny's Halo, only the 2nd Canadian-bred horse, to ever win The Run For The Roses.
Train track+ horse racing track = Right track :thumbu:

I find it weird Anderson is being blamed for this one.

I get it for some other games. But today the entire team stunk top to bottom.
In the last 5 games, we’ve outplayed the opposing team 4 times and in each one the other teams goalie has managed to steal 1 or 2 points. The one game our team plus like crap, and we could really use the goalie to bail us out, he doesn’t step up.

That’s my issue with Andersen. You can’t count on him anymore to bail the team out. And if that’s the case, then he’s closer to a backup than he is a starter.

I can maybe deal with that Hyman penalty but that bench minor on top was the most ridiculous call I’ve seen in my life. To put a team down 5v3 with 4 mins left is just insane. Especially when the bench didn’t even do anything ridiculous like throwing items in the ice

I think the point is that every team is bound to go on a cold streak. A true #1 on a contender should steal a game or two. When is the last time anyone said that he has stolen a game for us?

Who cares about the Jets. One of the worst teams in the league that the media loves, they suck. Period. Horrible team going nowhere.

You don't understand, nhl wants any other team besides the Leafs to carry the north.

I would like but they took away my ability to like posts
I heard of Sunny’s Halo and knew the name soon as i read it. My uncle was in to harness racing so likely i heard it around that crowd. Impressive horse, well impressive is a understatement really. I just Wikipedia’d him ha. The good stuff trumps everything.

Toronto didn't deserve to win that game tonight, didn't play very well.. In saying that they were still in the game and atleast could have gotten a point tonight and its the same old song and dance, Freddy gives up a weak goal at a awful time.

I think a swap on forward might be beneficial, Just to get some fresh blood into the lineup and maybe spark something.

Terrible effort. What in the heck happened to my favorite teams tonight? Both Leafs and Habs with unacceptable and inexcusable play.

I wouldn't even blame Andy for this one, guys. Players were skating in molasses and totally out of sync. They didn't give themselves a chance to win.

How in the PUCK! can you be a Leafs AND!!! Habs fan? wtf is wrong with you? ..... weird dude.... weird. lol

There are standards believe it or not that they have to adhere to, but fans aren't privy to how they're graded!

It's my understanding that each coach after every game sends in a written report and a critique of the officials, the critique has to be backed up by video.

Each referee is graded on a points system (as an example each game could be worth up to 50 points or what have you, they are then graded by the league based on the game reports. Sometimes they get a call from the league, sometimes they get a visit from a management type, but if they do a particularly crappy enough job in a game, especially a nationally broadcast game, a game which say creates a lot of negative media and fan reactions, then they would possibly be asked to come in to have a face to face meeting with, the league, attended by Stephen Walkom Senior VP and Director of league officiating and their union rep. The meeting could end up in a written warning, or being assessed a fine or even being suspended, which means no pay for the time period they don't work. The officials are privy to the game reports that get them in hot water, I've always wondered if some of them don't build up a certain amount of recrimination with individual players/teams and or coaches!

A running tally is kept so by the regular season's end, those with the highest totals will get to do the playoff games(lot's of extra dough on top of their salaries)

If an official scores very low over the season they could end up back in the A, or behind a desk and having to re-qualify or at worst looking for employment

Thank you this post it was very informative!

Why?

Since the Leafs has by far the largest fan base in the NHL which makes them the largest revenue generator in the league why would the NHL actively try to hurt the one team that brings much more revenue then any other team? Probably more revenue then the last bottom 6 revenue teams combined.

This line of thought does not make sense to me.

I'm only saying this to add to the convo. Not because I actually believe it.

You could argue in order to push ticket sales and revenue, you prompt up a failing business. Such as the Burger King buyout of Tim Hortons, or the curious case of Vegas becoming stanley cup finalists under some very..laxed rules and regulations towards the teams abilities to obtain players from other teams. Also add in the bribery of draft pick and cap dumps to turn cheek.

You could say the same for other teams in the northern division to boost viewership and merchandise since ticket sales have become a more future projected market. It's a long term plan with a short term solution.

You can't grow the Leafs and Habs market. The others you can.

The leafs were the better team in games 1 and 2, Winnipeg in game 3. Despite this, Jets walk away with 5 of 6 points. Goaltending being the difference.

Maurice game 1 & 2:
Guys, take the night off, except you Helli.

Maurice game 3:
Guys, your turn now. Helli, have a cigar.

Thanks for giving me a point of view that I never thought of. Considering how the Leafs dominate the national sports media I don't think this is right but it is a point of view I never considered. :thumbu:
