I'm not so sure I'd put much stock into what was said on a Bruins produced "reality" show.

And just because there were those at the table who did agree, doesn't mean they came up with the idea.

It was back in the summer, I can't recall who it was honestly.

At least i shared an factual discussion on the kid....What you said about has no fact or credibility. Get a source not a fantasy quote from someone who you "honestly" say you forgot who said it...

You have been telling me this

Logic says Cam along with the Jacobs came to the conclusion

I know Cam has a broad scope but I would be surprised if he acted alone just to big a player and to much information floating around

Why does "logic" say it was Cam or the Jacobs ???

I think coming off a cup win awhile before, Chia probably had enough power to make the deal. I am sure he had to tell them, but i doubt they were the motivating force of the trade.

Fair enough. Was just curious since I've been saying for a couple of years that Chiarelli was told he had to trade him but didn't know if it came from Neely or higher.

Would love to know the answer to that

I think this is why a lot of fans on here, and in general don't like Don Sweeney. He was the AGM at the time, and would have had input on the trade. Neely would have also had input, and he is still here.

I like what Don has done to our prospect pool. I don't like the current on ice product. I really don't like the communication between the front office and the fan base. I honestly think that if Don Sweeney and Neely cleared the air on the Seguin deal (why, who ordered it, etc). It would go a long way towards re-establishing a trust relationship with the fanbase.

In addition it would be nice to hear what the clear vision for this team is. In 2016 when Don took over it was "We need to be faster and push the pace". Last off season the mantra was "We need to be bigger and tougher to play against". Have a clear vision please, and execute on it. Let us fans know, this is the vision for the team. Toronto has done it, and that fan base has bought in completely.

So, how do you think this information on Seguin was received by the team and how was it substantiated?

The GM heard a rumor on the teams future superstar and he just decided he'd move him without consulting the Owner or team president first?

He just gave them a courtesy phone call? Why the big meeting on behind the B?

Whatever. I admitted I have no inside knowledge on the situation, just repeating what was read on this very board. I never stated it as factual info, and stated where I found it, just not the name of the poster(s), which sorry I can't remember.

As for your credibilty, see post #930.

There was/is tons of speculation and whispers about that Seguin trade.

I do not want this thread turning into a rehash of that years ago deal. Dig up an old one if some need it.

This is to talk about Sweeney. Here and now.

thanks.

Usually I don't quote myself. But I'm asking for a second time.

Real nice like.

Please.

Thank you.

Matt Duchene has stated today he is open for a trade

I wonder what the Bruins need to give up to grab him

what about a deal including Zboril or Lindgren, Debrusk, Karlsson and a few draft picks (still might not be enough)

Duchene is a real talent

I suggested Carlo and Heinen (two kids with Colorado ties) on the main board but their fans didn't think it was enough.

Buying our Seidenberg and replacing him with Liles is looking like another for the loss column for Sweeney. Granted, I was saying last year bringing back Liles was not wise.

I think that was nothing more than theater with pre-scripted lines. Backfired on them anyway.

I don't think you can say he was replaced with Liles... They both were on the team at the same time last year.

He bought out Seidenberg and then failed to replace him at all.

Trades are hard.

What do you want him to do anyway? Fix holes he creates? What is he a miracle worker? Go easy on the guy. Just sit through this crap for another couple years...then everything will be fine.

Biggest loss here is not grooming Morrow to play. Shame. They will regret it.

Great win against the 'Burgh, but the B's still need a lot of help on D. Unfortunately, trading for even a decent defenseman is very hard, so I doubt Don will find a deal without grossly overpaying. Have to think that's the overall feeling from other GMs, right? I'm willing to bet Pastrnak comes up in every conversation and other GMs are licking their lips waiting for Donny to cave. That's a worst case scenario, but could happen...

More concerning from DS and the rest of Bruins management... they have said absolutely nothing to address these Julien rumors. Makes me think they are seriously considering the move. Or perhaps Don believes the players will play better if they believe the axe is hanging over Claude's head for the rest of the season.

They can ask all they want, That is not happening. But you are correct they need another DMAN.

I am one person that thought tha buying out Seidenberg and not bringing in anyone else was a bad move. I also thought that resigning Liles who was also I awful last year was a bad move. Had he kept Seidenberg and not signed Liles I would have been perfectly fine with that. He should have forced Julien's hand to play CMiller & Morrow by not resigning either Liles or Seidenberg and ran with the kids, especially since he did not use the buyout money to fill the hole in the top 4.

It's Neely's call so he should address- Sweeney commenting on what's going on inside Cam's head makes no sense to me.

Neely is higher on the mask head and he's the one who has been jonesing for Chiarelli & Claude since he came on

Cam is on the hot seat you can only tell Jeremy Jacobs so many times something will happen and it hasn't

He's not as visible around there as in the past
