Yeah he was being sarcastic LMAOI recall his sarcastic tweet about COVID the day after the election, but did he actually deny the existence of it?

We can pinpoint what he has done!
-He used a racist slur and was suspended for it. He admits he did it.
-He publicly denied COVID on his Twitter account, violating the team's policy on social media, not to mention their policy on COVID!
-He was caught with a burner account that he was using to start fights with fans that were paying customers of his team.
-He was also doing that on his verified account!
-He stayed up late, sometimes before games, on social media, to the point where his agent had to message him to tell him to go to bed.
If this isn't a problematic employee, then nothing is problematic.
IIRC the label of COVID denier was used as a blanket statement for anyone who was against mandates or lockdowns. Or at least in my anecdotal experience. IF TDA denied the existence of COVID, he's an idiot but on the other 2 points(lockdowns/mandates), I feel people have different takes and thats OKProbably depends on when he was asked about it. There was a lot of COVID denial in the early days (helped along by a certain political figure in charge at the time), but eventually everybody (well, everyone with a functioning brain) was forced to admit its existence because it became too ingrained in reality to deny.
Oh I'm sorry, he may have been sexist or homophobic. I wouldn't want to sully his good name with baseless accusations. The slur he used (to a former teammate) could have been deemed sexist, homophobic or racist, so to say he admitted to using a racist slur is, to my knowledge, untruthful.
The rest is just somebody having opinions/habits that you might find unlikeable.
The day Biden became president elect, he tweeted "what happened to COVID-19" in response to what he perceived as a shifting narrative, after it was in the news constantly running up to the election.Yeah he was being sarcastic LMAO
It wasn't.The day Biden became president elect, he tweeted "what happened to COVID-19" in response to what he perceived as a shifting narrative, after it was in the news constantly running up to the election.
Seems like sarcasm to me.
That seems like a conclusion you've drawn based on your own personal bias.It wasn't.
I'm not going to take this any further because it's going to get political. That seems like a conclusion you've drawn based on your own personal bias.
I mean, the statement isn't even denying COVID, it's literally asking what happened to it, i.e. why is no one talking about it today.
Are there other comments he made that actually denied the existence of COVID?
I don’t think this place or Reddit could handle that factWait until they hear about how the vast majority of American hockey players have the same beliefs as TDA!
That's what I figured.I'm not going to take this any further because it's going to get political.
What happened in Philly? I see different things from different media outlets.
Freedom of the press is another governmental principle that has nothing to do with this. Would I be restricting the freedom of the press by not agreeing to be interviewed by the NYT, no matter what my reasons are? Of course not.
Same with this guy and TDA’s podcast. He’s not infringing on TDA’s right to say what he wants, he’s merely choosing to not be an active participant in those statements.
I didn't manufacture anything. You can interpret what he said however you want and be as pedantic about it as you want. It was totally irresponsible to tweet as a representative of an NHL team. That's what I figured.
TDA is a scumbag in my books, and we don't need to manufacturer reasons beyond the facts to prove it.
Completely agreed thereI didn't manufacture anything. You can interpret what he said however you want and be as pedantic about it as you want. It was totally irresponsible to tweet as a representative of an NHL team.
To an extent, his tweets about COVID are, because you kind of have to contextualize where they're coming from.this is a tough thread because the core element to discuss is inherently political
Agreed but I was referring to the ideological differences in those who would bow to the external pressure and make an apology and those who would go on the podcast, Actually I shouldn't paint all said ideology because there are some like Destiny (who I vehemently disagree with) who do have the stones to go on a problematic podcast. I may disagree with guys like that but I respect their stones to go through with it.To an extent, his tweets about COVID are, because you kind of have to contextualize where they're coming from.
By and large, it's not tho. The team that most famously fired DeAngelo just held a Trump rally at their arena. He had some other problems going on.
By CREATING backlash? What an asshole. “I have seen the backlash “
How do guys like this get a platform in the first place
