Agreed. Still hope when Laf and Kakko take the next step and pieces like Othman and Berard make the jump we can become an offensive powerhouse.
We could have all but guaranteed it, instead of having to hope.

Hajek doesn't belong in that category. He has been given sporadic opportunities and has been fine. They play him on his offside with usually a D man who needs carrying. He makes mistakes as do Lindgren and Miller. He just doesn't get any slack and he earned some that first callup where he was really strong.Gauthier, to be honest, is starting to creep into the Howden/Hajek category of just being too disappointing for far too long.
Steve Aoki is a waste of sperm. Was at the game and I want those 8 minutes back.First game I’ve gone to in at least two years …
Steve Aoki in the house
Umm if you’re 26 - 40 and single- msg is a solid place to be at least 2-3 times a month.
Jack Doyle’s is fantastic too pre post during …
Man that Crowd has gone millennial overnight- I’d say a solid 30% had no idea who Morgan Barron is …
Lotta selfie takers
Lafrenniere is really a struggling skater when you see him live - be needs work .
he’s stuck along the boards too - not quick .
I’m concerned about Panarin- is it aging ?
Don't forget Vickers !I think I was the 1st to claim he will easily get 40, and most likely get his 50+ exactly for that reason. He ALWAYS gives the majority of credit to Zibs, Panarin, Stromer, Fox etc. for his easy goal.........not really easy, he DESERVES all the attention he will get throughout the league.
Reminding me of Graves with his "all of a sudden" 50 goal season.
Before him was Hadfield, Espo and Jagr that seemed to station themselves and "collect the garbage".
Witb Kreids, much more skill from his teammates though, me thinks.
the forward group is not better without Chytil. We are forced to play Mckegg. Rooney and Reaves are getting way too many minutes and Hunt is not on the 4th line. Chytil will help with balance and get other guys who belong on the bench or in the press box off the ice.by far best game of the season...first period was scrambly
after that everything about the game was impressive ... took the game to florida at points, pp came up huge, limited long shifts in our zone, odd mans against, and high quality chances...really went toe to toe with what i think is the leagues best team. physically too was very impressed with our pushback when they wanted to mix it up..never got out of hand but there was no give and we were hard on them.
mika especially was very, very good...dont think ive ever seen him that physical/aggressive on pucks in all 3 zones. d were very solid overall, remarkable how poised schneider is already. laf keeps getting better, not just the goal but his play on and off the puck was great. will be nice to get kakko back but laf should stay in that spot w/ kreider and mika. lastly, the forward group is better without chytil in the lineup.
2013-2014 had a great fourth line - Moore, Boyle and either Dorsett or Carcillo.
Pouliot was with Zucc & Brassard. They also had it going on.
Maybe this is because Nils didn't get time in Hartford first to adjust to the pro game and the smaller ice. Nils has huge upside as both a responsible defensive defenseman and as a weapon on the PP with his accurate cannon. They should both be in our long term plans. There are things that are apparent that you don't need a whole bunch of things to see. For instance, I can tell you straight up that Nils will never defend the rush, work the corners, defend the front of the net or move the puck as well as Schneider. Nils metrics may have been okay, but he was also heavily sheltered. Schneider has been entrusted with more, and he has looked better.
It's 25 and 10 at the NHL level, but all reports (including eye witness reports from people here) it's how ever many games they've played at the AHL level as well. As pros in NA, there is no comparison, and the difference is drastic. Even offensively where Nils should have been more visible, it's Schneider who has been more impactful.
hes the most bland player in the nhl. hes not even a good skater anymore. he doesnt win many races and his skating doesnt create any separation from a defender when he has the puck. for someone that is a 4th liner i like to see them excel at one thing, even if they are below average in others. hes just meh at everything.McKegg is a waste. Even when his positioning is good enough for him to get the puck, he vomits it up quickly. Not an NHLer.
I am amazed at how you have a TMNT gif for EVERYTHING lmao.
Rangers have 4 PPG players now. Kreider, Fox, Zibby, Bread. And the best goalie in the world.
All the Cats fans were saying was how the broadcast was homer towards the Rangers. I guess they’re just used to Goldstein being one of the biggest homers on the call in hockey. What a game. That 3rd period was one of the best periods we've seen in a long time.
Laf (and Kakko)needs to stay in the top 6. One of his best games.
Good on Strome for rocking that dude.
1st line was fantastic.
Panarin reacting to Kreider not taking the hatty was hilarious.
Schneider looks like he belongs.
The officiating is still a joke.
What a terrible broadcast by ESPN. Was that Boucher? who refused to say anything positive about the Rangers. Loser.
I'm not sure the camera guy knew who the head coach was. Kept showing Mike Kelly.
This is laughableDorsett was better than Boyle and clearly Hunt. Hunt on 4th line LW is adequate. We should aspire to a better player for that slot next to Goodrow.

Announcer at the bar post game: I'm telling you any minute now this Panthers offense is gonna f***ing EXPLODE
I think this is something that someone (Gallant? Video coaches? Idk… do they want me to do a free presentation? I’ll volunteer) should be bringing into focus for them when we get back at it after the break.
We lose games when we try to be the Panthers or the Avalanche. Particularly when we rely on Strome and Panarin going cross ice to each other over and over again. We don’t have the offensive horses for that type of game. When we adapt like we did last night and play a black and blue, workmanlike game, we end up outplaying our opponents. And that’s, coincidentally, the game we are built for.
Schneider is looking great, but he’s not Makar or Girard. He’s a big boy who can play physical. Lindgren is at his best when he’s playing really hard nosed hockey. He had a BIG hit midway through the second last night and I remember thinking THERE’S Lindgren! He’d been missing. Trouba, ditto Schneider. Kreider’s a big body net front presence. Mika has skill, but he’s also a big boy who can use that size so much better than he has. Laf has shown he can get greasy. Kakko will be SO MUCH better when he learns to do the same and use his man size to go into tough areas and then say “get off me” to any opponent who steps into his space. Gauthier can’t finish but when he uses his speed and size effectively, he creates some chaos. Miller is a big and fast guy who has the ability to be physically dominating.
We brought in Reaves (guy is old, looks gassed but he was effective early and obviously has given the team an injection of backbone even if his minutes should be limited). We brought in Goodrow. We brought in Hunt. We brought in Blais (RIP, but when he’s in the lineup, he fits right into the argument I’m making).
All of the additions point to, and enhance, a team identity of winning by committee, through work and energy and grinding opponents to dust. Unfortunately three of the top four forwards on the team tend to want to play globetrotter hockey rather than buy into that game. All three wear As and they tend to steer the ship. We need to accept that as individually talented as they are, the NY Rangers are a team that isn’t built for globetrotter hockey. The second and third periods last night were the style of hockey that will make this team look as dangerous on the ice as their record is on paper. You could see it reflected in the amped up Kreider that came out for the first star. We need to get everyone to buy into that brand of hockey.

Yes, absolutely.......so happy right now.
Just one thing in all due fairness........the majority of Ranger domination really probably was because the Panthers collectively LOST their legs & brains. Last period of b2b, they were making bad passes, with many giveaways they didnt cough up earlier.
Credit to our good play.........but it was them as well.

I can't remember in recent history where we were this top heavy.
I remember seasons where Gaborik had like 50% of our goals 1/3 of the thru the season. Maybe when it's 4 players, it can be a recipe for success?
