Let's be serious here, if they lost this game you would be making a big deal about it.

I didn't even name you or anything, you literally just came in here now because you think you're one of the people that I'm talking about. That actually says more than anything I posted
Yes, because it would further prove the point we've been trying to make, and that first period they were well on their way to doing that.

You didn't have to "name" me, you're making a statement that attempted to make it look like this team doesn't still have a shit ton of problems because they played a game that looks a lot different from a large majority of games they play on a regular basis. We just watched 3 of them in a row prior to this one.

Maybe wait until this team plays like this all the time, instead of once in awhile, before declaring victory?

Best win of the year. I didn't think they were that bad in the first, but that's just the Rangers having gaslit me into thinking that's what a decent period looks like.

Zibanejad has been on fire and he's starting to really take over every shift he's out there. Reaves and Rooney's line had a much better night. Schneider was great. Lafreniere one ups Lundell. Board is filled with positivity except those who are still complaining about complaints. Cat pics are filling the thread.

Nature is healing.

Yes he is if he is playing on the 4th line.

No he’s not. He doesn’t do enough. He may not be a total liability but he’s not a net positive player even in the regular season, let alone the playoffs. Don’t get drunk just because we just beat the Panthers.

I'm gonna say it again... Schneider is 20 years old and playing a strong top4 game, doing everything. Led the team in SH ice time. Continues to read the play extremely well. Jumps in extremely well.

He's basically a unicorn

Adam Fox was masterbating in his Harvard dorm at 20 years old... just sayin

You shut your mouth. Adam Fux was nailing 9s and 10s in college.

Sounds legit

Probably Lafs best game as a Ranger. It changes everything about the complexion of the team if he can be the player we hope for. Kakko as well.

Also, its almost as if playing good players with other good players works instead of playing them with shit ones.

It sounds simple but there are other pieces of the puzzle that have to fit. Certain options have to be tested before you go so far down a road. That's part of what's going on here. Do people here not realize that Drury is somewhat involved in these discussions ?

Special shoutout to the linesmen the last two games who need to gtfo of the league. Last night was the faceoff Nazi; tonight I think the guys were colorblind and didn't know which were the bluelines. Panthers were offsides like 7 times without a stoppage. Lazy me only took one screengrab tho:

Outside the top guys who are awesome every night, I thought the 4th line really improved as the game went on. Schneider contiues to impress and already has Gallant's trust, he should start looking for places to live in NY. Also thought Barron had some good moments after the bad penalty he took, he should play in Hartford through the break and be a staple in the lineup once were back. Also glad the coaching staff finally realized that Hajek was a liability and limited his minutes late.

Big shout out to Goodrow.
Asks the Refs if they are going to call any more penalties for the rest of the night and when they don’t answer him he goes out and makes plays that are definitely on the other side of the whistle.
I hope in our prospect pool we have at least one or two players like him
I missed that but that's awesome! Are we going to get to see a GG presser later ?

Laf just has to go to the net on rushes and keep scoring those dirty goals. From there itll blossom. Start simple and get those goals and his game will round. I have faith as longs as hes kept with Krieder and Zib. They will certainly help his game. He’s already pretty confident for a kid, imagine his swagger when hes starts scoring consistently?

So this team which is now 30 13 4 needs to prove that they aren't bad, that's essentially what you keep saying.

A couple weeks ago it was that the record against anyone except the best 7 ish teams was basically marginalized (bc they were winning) but playing only at 500 ish against those 7 ish good teams made this team bad. Now they beat possibly the best team in the league and suddenly the games they play against lesser teams recently matter bc those were losses and this game against a top team is marginalized.

The bottom line is even the top teams aren't guaranteed squat in the playoffs. The vast majority of the top teams don't even make it to the conference finals. All a team can do is learn to win games and prepare for the grind, then you see what happens. The fact nyr keeps winning the way they are with about 1/3 of an AHL roster is further impressive.

I wish this team would play with that intensity more consistently. Go toe to toe with the Panthers and convincingly take two points from them after such lackluster performances recently...they have the ability to play this harder game with more offensive pressure but they just get too passive for long stretches like they're afraid to force the other team or score some dirty goals
Seems like when they realized "oh yeah we can be a big tough team and start forcing the Panthers into some bad spots we can put pressure on and scores some goals"
Now remember to do that shit every night
